Cartomizer Tanks and 100% VG

Curious if anyone is using 100% VG in a DCT. I just ordered one and I'm wondering how well it will work with a thicker juice.

I've never been a carto guy because I find them to be a pain to fill with VG. I'd consider switching to a blend but PG tends to bother my throat for some reason.

PLEASE tell me there's a way to make a DCT work with my beloved Boba's Bounty. It's going to be a deal-breaker if it doesn't...

You could try the following ;

1 Thin the VG with 5-10% distilled water.
2 Punch an extra hole or two in the carto

Exactly what you're looking for, using a DCT with Boba's.

I use tanks and cartos with 100% VG juice everyday. Most of the time one good size hole does the trick.

Sweet. Thanks for the quick replies. Looks like I'll be breaking out the dremel tool. I was worried that having the hole too big would make it flood. Good to know that it's not that critical.,

Personally I would try thinning your mix first. More or bigger holes will work,
but IMO would be more likely to leak, especially with variations in heat and pressure.
The only time my tank leaked was when going from A/C inside to 110 temperature
outside.

My first DIY liquids were 100% VG and I found that thinning with 5% PGA or
5 to 10% distilled water, thinned the juice nicely without effecting flavor.

I was looking for a 100%VG tank also and wanted to get a DCT but chickened out because of the tiny hole that is pre-punched in them. I went with a mini-sub tank since it has 3 sizable holes in it. Works great with Boba's but I would still like to know if the DCT with the standard pre-punched hole would work or not. Mind letting us know before you add holes plooker? I have no dremel and have no desire to buy one just for this lol.

I'll give it a shot when it comes in and let you know. I expect it may be a problem but I'll sacrifice a carto to find out. But I imagine you could make the hole bigger pretty easily prying it out with a small screwdriver or something of the like. There are also some videos on punching them which may help you out. Since I already have a dremel I think I'll go that route...

You could try a metal panel screw with a screwdriver .

I was thinking I could widen the hole with a screw driver or something like that but I was told that the fit into the tank was so tight and fitted perfect for the carto's they use that any punching that would change the size/shape of the carto's would make it impossible to insert the carto's back into the tank... of course if you use a dremel then this shouldn't matter.

Thanks so much for offering. I love the look and design of the DCT, I just wish they would make the hole a little bigger or add another one. I already have 2 tanks I spent over 80$ for that don't work with VG. Wish I still liked PG lol. Btw avoid the vision stone from gotvapes. It doesn't wick very well for VG and you have to keep turning it over to get it to wet the coil.

I'm Using a Smoktech DCT right now with Bobas in it and it works great, except I use Ressurector cartos in the tank, not dual coils.
The pre-punched hole is too small for a juice that thick to feed right. The pre-punched hole is fine for juices that are like 80PG/20VG, but something like 100%VG is way too thick.
What I did to make it work is put the carto in a vice so it doesn't move, then using a finishing nail and a hammer, make the pre-punched hole about the diameter of the finishing nail(prob about 3-4x the size of the pre-punched hole. Then I punched a second hole the same size on the opposite side. Then fill the carto, put it into the tank, and fill the tank.
With the much bigger holes, and also 2 holes instead of one, the tank will feed Bobas to the carto perfectly, and you don't have to thin out the juice at all, which will just dilute the delicious flavor. Try that and you should have no problem.

A dremmel also will work too, but I don't have one and there's no way I'm going to buy one just to punch cartos, and especially when A finishing nail and hammer can give you the same results

I like the throat hit from PG, and the vapor from VG, so I usually mix them, and if its too thick, a few drops of water..
