they do NOT work on my 901 passthrough. Both Nebula and Vaporking cartomizers... no working

how did you get them to work Mamu?

Grimm - dat you?? Didn't recognize you in that new avatar! :)

I didn't do anything other than screw the cartomizer to the 901 adapter on the Prodigy and give it a go. Worked fine. I don't think anything can pop these attys - even high volts, but the atty does get pretty warm on the Prodigy.

I got the cartomizers from Drew at nhaler.com. They are the KR808D cartomizers. I read where the various types were all the same - but maybe not.

Here's a pic with a menthol cartomizer...

Drew sells two different types of cartomizers:
  1. KR808D-1 Cartomizers for his "Nhaler"
  2. GreenCig Integrated Atomizers for his "Xhaler"
I believe that either will work with any KR808D-1 battery. However, perhaps only the GreenCig cartomizers will work with Prodigy's 901 adapter. Are you sure that you are using the KR808D-1 cartomizers?

I've been doing some research on these cartomizers and have found that there are a few different tips with these cartomizers.

The updated KR808D cartomizers from Drew at nhaler.com work with the Prodigy and GG.

The older cartomizers that vapor4life and some other suppliers sell have different tips and don't work apparently.

yeah mamu its me , i decided i needed a more militant avatar in the wake of the FDA announcements..

... anyway , i don't have a prodigy , but i do have the PS passthrough and i can't get a cartomizer to work ... no air flow. I have a bunch from Drew but they don't seem to work. I don't know if the adapters from the PT are different than the prodity... hmmmmm... interesting.

grimm - your avatar reminds me of that evil puppet master movie - muahahaha!!

Does it appear that the atomizer is working? Does it heat up? Did you tighten it on then back it off a little?

The vapor on these things are different, but I like the convenience when I go out and about.

There are different types of cartomizers. If you look at the battery connection, some have a groove on the positive post and others are flat. If your cartomizers have a flat positive connector, they won't work, because there's no air flow. Typically, the flat connector types are used with a battery that has a groove on the positive contact. All of the newer batteries seem to have the groove.

Something I've noticed with the cartomizers that I have on hand: Those in blister packs do have the groove on the positive connector. The cartomizers that come in the little box, do not have the groove. Personally, I prefer the groove on the cartomizer as I have several batts with a flat positive contact...plus I converted a couple of 901 batts to work with them as well.

yeah , the atty gets hot and i can hear the crackling of the juice , but it's like sucking on a pencil , i get no airflow... even if i use the cartomizers with a groove in the center post like Bri suggested

Nick, yesterday I watched your second video review of the PS PT and see that, until recently, you were using the 801 adapter on it. Are you sure that you tried to connect the cartomizers to the 901 adapter?

Also, I'm pretty sure Puresmoker PT adapters are different from* the Prodigy adapters. Steve has made a point of saying that the V2 (Protege) adapters will be interchangable with the PT adapters.

* different from? different than? - I'm not sure which is correct. If anyone knows, please tell me. <-- That note was way off topic.:)

he he ... yep i'm sure i was trying the 901 adapter , i believe the Prodigy adapters are wider round than the PT adapters , and the Protege' will be more narrow than the Prodigy. So the adapters from the PT will fit it.

I have grooves cut into some of mine in the foil packs and some that do not. It is hit and miss. I got three packs from nHaler and some from vapor4life. The Vanilla ones in the foil pack did have the groove and then the 555 and green tea did NOT. The ones that came with my VK from V4L were in a box Mar and they also HAD the groove cut into them. Weird. So which ones do you think last longer? The ones WITH without a doubt. But how do you ask the supplier to only send those? I also noticed the burnt taste much more in the uncut cartomizers.

I used and old 901 atty contact and housing, and added battery contact from the old 901 battery on the other side of the atty housing. After connecting positive contacts with a small wire, I can use it as and adapter from cartomizers to prodigy 901. The hole in the atty housing provides good airflow.
