I haven't been using cartomizers for very long, maybe a 2 months or
slightly longer. My first two boxes were great and hit better then any
regular atomizer could ever dream of, but then i got some in a box with
"The Yeti" on it and with soft rubber tips for easy refill.

Well those aren't nearly as good as the first two batches I got in a white box that said atomized cartridge and had hard glued on tips.

From what I can tell "Boge" makes the newer cartomizers and I'm just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the soft rubber tip cartomizers.

Maybe I just got ahold of a bad batch, but they dont take kindly to refills either, heck even the ones you buy empty dont like being filled.

So any insight on this matter would be great, a better place to order from maybe or tip and tricks that i may have missed...

Hey Jam

I wish I had insight, but I don't. What I have is a similar problem and was getting ready to ask about it, 'til I saw your post.

The last few boxes of cartomizers I've purchased have a burnt taste after four or five deep drags. There's plenty of juice surrounding the atomizer, so I'm not sure what's causing this. They also leak far more than cartomizers I've purchased in the past. And I'm not even talking about a jump from glued in hard caps to soft. I've only ever had soft caps. This is a very recent drop off in quality.

So, yeah. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Not sure how much help this will be.....the cartos (510) that Jam seems to be describing indeed sound like Boge's (Boge has the aluminum - read silver - battery connector) SLB makes the cartos with the brass connector.

The best I can offer is that LitecigUSA offers both types and free shipping over $15........I do believe they also still have some of the hard caps in stock. With that, I'll say that I have been using the Boge's for a few months now and haven't noticed any decline in performance.....of course, YMMV

Best of luck and VAPE ON!

Ahh, well it may seem that i got it wrong then, because the one Im using now is a silver thread and they hit like champs, the ones that don't hit very well IMO are the brass looking threads (From what I have noticed over the last 1 1/2 boxes).

I guess i should have researched a tad bit more. Thanks mick11, for the help on this matter, on my next order I will get the silver threaded boge ones to test out sense it is the silver threads Im having better luck with.

once again thanks and vape on as well!

Check the ohms on them. I'm finding higher ohms on some newer ones. Actually tried my 1st ego carto tonight, vapes great and came in at 2.5 ohms.

I've been reading this thread and wonder if the quality is the same, but perhaps they switched to a higher voltage cartomizer?

The 3.7v cartomizers are rated at 2.8-3.0 Omhs... I'm not sure about the 3.3v cartomizers.

The 3.3 and 3.7v rating is apparently for the C-E2 cartomizers for KR-808D-1 batteries. 2 voltages, same part #s.

Maybe the higher voltage batteries would work just fine?

I just bought some cartomizers from V4L and they are working just fine. I bought my batteries from a mall store's web site - 21stcenturysmoking.com (they didn't have the pink batteries in longs in stock), but without testing, I'm going to have to get out a meter to check the Omhs and volts.

Just a thought...

A mall store's web site :censored: them there are fighting words :D

At least you've got the goodies to test them out, so they cant fleese you.

As far as cartomizers go I've recently stumbled into 5V territory with my new passthru and suddenly my cartomizers seem weak on my 3.7V MOD. Closest thing I've seen to giving at least a guestimate on ranges was this scale pictured in the attachment. Covers a wider range and is conservative about the red line, but I'd rather err on the side of longevity. Most GOOD sites list the ohm, so using this scale I can see if they'll get me in the ballpark. Quality control may mean some variance, but the bars at the top seem to give you some idea of the possible range by brand. This picture was in another post that got moved and I cant find it anymore, luckily I copied it before I lost it in the bowels of the forum.

I looked up the stated ohm on the two I have 2.8 (vaporheads.net) and 3.2 (MadVapes). I probably shouldnt use the 2.8 in my 6V MOD without at least paying attention, but 3.2 should be the sweet spot although even +/- .1 or .2 ohms could be significant in a 6v MOD. And if I was to get a LR atty for my 3.7V MOD, putting it in my 5V passthru could make life interesting. Or more likely shorten the useful life.

Think it's going to come down to how close you are to where that red line actually is (everything here is just theory awaiting imperical data from us).

CtryBoy, It sounds like you may be on to something, I really never did pay any attention to the .ohms of any cartomizer or regular atty, I dont have any 5v units atm, but later down the road I might break down and buy one. i have been using the screwdriver for ever and just got some ego batts to try those out, but 5v units are starting to look like a must have before to long.

Thanks for the info and the meter pic, I will start using that.

I thought I was doing something wrong or going crazy. I was turned on to the cartomizers with a sample I got with an order and it had that hard plastic glued on cap. It was great! I'm pretty new to vaping and was just about ready to go back to analogs because I'm not too keen on constant dripping and refilling. It's a pain in the you know what, especially when driving. But this sample had me in heaven. I was so excited about it that I ordered six packs of five each which all have the rubber tip and just about every one of these either have been duds or suboptimal. I have wasted a lot of juice filling these. I'm very disappointed. The company I got these from is willing to work with me, but I'm wondering if it's even worth the postage to bother sending back what I have left anymore.

I don't believe it's the supplier that carries these is doing any tweaking. It's the manufacturer. I wish there was some other vendor to buy the old glued on white caps because the rubber capped ones (the newer ones) don't cut it.

I agree man, I wish I could find some place to get the old hard cap cartomizers, they did kick you know what. I also agree its not the supplier, its the manufacturer. I hope they bring back the quality...

carts are just inconsistent... when they work they rock, when they dont they suck!

Honestly I have feel that way about regular attys, they need to be redesigned or soemthing so they arent as finicky. I have been having better luck with the cartomizers then I have ever had out of the hundreds of regular attys I have wasted. I will never buy regular attys again if I can keep from it, but that jmo..

Well after a little more testing it seems I may have just got a some bad batches, a friend and i ordered some more from the same site I have been ordering from and everything seems to be back to normal, no week attys and they last and hit just as well as they should. I may have jumped the gun a little bit, but I was a little disappointed because I just had the best vaping in over a year for 2 months and it was gone, so I thought. Anyways The Yeti cartomizers turn out to be fine and are just as good as any other carto.
