What type of failure or consequence should one be expecting operating these low resistance cartos at 5V ?

Well...regardless of our distributor - I myself have not (knowingly) experienced an issue, and was curious as to your precaution.

My own personal caution?

On the PT-side, failed FETs and switches (which we've seen a fair bit of)
On the USB side: failed PTCs and eventually lifted traces
