Hi!

Back again with another newbie question. Right now, everything is working perfectly with my Ego-C starter kit--but I'd like to know what to do in the event a problem starts. I feel silly asking, because this is another very basic question.

I have a Boge cartomizer tank that's lasted a little over a week so far... but what is a cartomizer tank? The plastic tube containing the metal cylinder? Once the carto goes... how do I replace it, and what do I replace it with? Boge has several different models, and I've also read something about a cartomizer cutter??? Wow. And when I buy more cartomizers, do I have to fill them with wicks and coil myself?

So much to learn.

After you have checked out Baditude's blogs, I have one on another method for filling cartomizers. There are lots of ways to fill them, you have to experiment a bit to find the one that works best for you.

The Ocelot Method of Carto Filling (aka The Upside-Down Condom)

As long as you're using carto tanks, here is a short video of a "Hot Swap," which is replacing a carto in a tank without pouring out the juice. I was trying to set a speed record in the video, so it goes by fast. I have the same demonstration in a step-by-step pictorial in my blogs.

Here is a blog that describes the more common juice attachments used in vaping: Proper Terminology: Is it a Carto, a Tank, or What? Pay particular attention to the cartomizer and cartotank sections.

The cartomizer is the powerplant for the cartotank; the "tank" is merely a recepticle to hold e-liquid. Cartomizers are full of wick material (cigarette filter looking material inside the metal tube). A heating coil and air chamber are within the wick. Holes are required in the steel tube, to allow the e-liquid in the tank to enter the cartomizer automatically each time you vape on it from the vacuum created when you vape. Cartomizers are purchased ready to be filled with e-liquid and pre-punched to go into a cartotank. Used cartos are disposed of, these are not re-useable equipment.

Cartomizers and cartotanks are available in different lengths. A cartotank can be refilled multiple times with the same cartomizer. The cartomizer will need to be replaced every 2 - 3 weeks, when the draw becomes stiff or the flavor begins to taste bad. Used cartos are dispensed and disposed, and a new carto is primed before putting it into the tank. A carto tank tool is essential IMHO for ease of use and to save the o-rings in the tank from unneccessary wear & tear.

Thanks for all the help! I just have one more question. I'm looking at these: www.CANVAPE.com Welcome to Canada's ultimate one stop shop on-line created for Canadian's to service your electronic cigarette needs. You'll find the highest quality products online for sale as well as the best pricing, service and sales. Quick proce/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Boge45Tank
and wonder what ohm I should get? 1.8ohm or 2.9ohm? I don't want to break the e-cig. I have an ego-C Twist 650mah and ego-C 1000mah.

(edit: I can't get the link to work properly.)
