Has anyone noticed a change in the quality/longevity of the KR808D cartomizers lately?

I bought a Vapor King from Vapor for Life with some carts back in March and those carts lasted a whole day, didn't burn up and maintained their flavor to the end. I recently bought some more from another vendor and I went through one cart in about 3 or 4 hours and it started burning up and tasting awful.

Thought it was my imagination, but yes, have noticed a marked difference in the duration of flavor and the ensuing burnt taste.

Six weeks ago, a cart would last me the entire day, and even some into the next day, but now, I have to top off before the end of the day, and then I get that awful burnt taste. When I do top off, I feel that I'm wasting liquid, because the carts get hot, and I give up and grab a fresh cart.

Something has changed, and not for the better!

These carts are very inconsistant...They are sensitive to climate and condition...The other thing is, if you let them sit for a while after you think they are dead...they come back to life...I think the reason for this is the liquid from the outer rap of the batting inside soaks back towards the heating element and stops the metalic taste...I have been dropping a SMALL drop distilled water into the battery end of the cart and putting them back in the fridge for a day or two...When you use them again they are like new for a while...Also when refilling you shouldnt use to much liquid... I think less is more

Thanks Drew, I was just curious if others were noticing the same thing. It is what it is, and these are still my travel vape of choice...in the car, flying, pretty much anywhere that isn't home. Now I just need to make sure I bring a couple of extra carts.

I'm definitely going to try the distilled water trick, and I've now put them in the fridge.

Drew,

I already have the Arm & Hammer, and just finished putting my carts in the fridge, and I have many of them.

What I used was Reynolds Handi-Vac. These bags come with a little device about the size of a flashlight and with that device you suck out all the air of the bag, keeping the contents of the bag very air-tight and moisture free.

I've kept meats in the freezer for months, and when I defrost them, they are as fresh as the day I bought them.......

Thank you so much Drew!! :)

Your Welcome Flower,
I think the best case is to not let the moisture out...so it is almost like a humidor effect...I dont know if I said it before here, but...I keep an opened jug of distilled water in the fridge I store the carts in and I dont put them in plastic...as a supplier I need a seperate fridge..I keep this set at 55 degrees...Wow that reynolds thing sounds cool tho..Im gonna have to get that gadget...Maybe I can find one today and show off with the in laws this weekend:rolleyes::thumb:

Also known as FoodSaver, you can get one at Costco, ~$100. You can also get 'generic' refills on the rolls of plastic for sealing, works great. I routinely buy a 20 pound tenderloin, and cut it up into inch thick filets, then seal them off in pairs in the freezer.

Wow wegster you dont mess around! I think thats the one I bought for my in laws a year ago or so...they love it...They reuse everthing also...they rinse out there zip lock baggies and us them for a long time...They even have a holder that helps them dry. I actually tried it a couple times but I caught the cat licking the inside once and figured I better not leave them around( insert picture From Kate here)

I got the same problem....the carts not lasting anywhere near 200 puffs without topping off. I start topping off from the beginning to make sure that the cart is wet or else you will fry the cart material. Has anyone ever taken these apart? Well I have...every single time I finish a cart...I take them apart and it is not a pretty site. I would make sure to not to over use the carts since the atomizer burns through the fire ......ant material and then cart material. Two hundred puffs is all that they can take before becoming dangerous.

I'm still working on the cartridges that I got this month and so far, they all seem to be good, except one which got really harsh. I bought this ecig so I wouldn't have to deal with the visual aspect of dripping and topping off etc and I reallyenjoy it. I have a cart that I think is empty and am gonna try put it in the fridge to see what happens. I'We have two foodsavers, one big one for the family and the small one for me. they're great. Anyway, I'm just glad that my goal wasn't to give up analogues, cause I'm getting very frustrated with the lack of 0s from all the stores. Everyone seems to be restocking, out of everything or they carry only the higher (more than 6 mg) strength cartomizers. Maybe, this ties into what's going on with you guys. There could be some kind of problem going on in the factory where these are made that's causing these new batches to malfunction and maybe, they keep pumping them out due to the high demand. Not trying to bash anyone, since I'm sure all the suppliers here are very careful with their products. It could all be cause these are so new to the market. In any case, I didn't know these things become dangerous. Can they hurt me? How do I really know when to start using another one?

Mag...when they get really hot...throw them away. When you start tasting burnt liquid or the hits become harsh....throw them away. But the best way to know you are starting to burn the cart material is by smell. Every once in a while I smell the battery end of the cart...if it smells burnt...it is burnt....throw it away. I find that by making sure the cart is filled fully from the beginning.....opening up the cart and topping off from the beginning and adding a few drops from the battery end as well.... I get the best performance. Alot of these carts are half filled ....when you vape on a half filled cart you will definitely increase the chances of burning through the cart. Sometimes I overfill the cart...and that is no good as well. If you ever over fill a cart....blow out the extra liquid on to a napkin.

You should always carry liquid with you as well. Every 40-50 puffs add a 3 drops of liquid from the battery end of the cart. Roll it around in your hand and then you are good to go. Throw them away after 200 puffs. Keep these carts moist people...you don;t want to inhale polyester fumes.
