I am using the Smoktech Grove with an Artemas Locking 510 DCT tank. Thicker eliquids tend to cause clogging / flooding in the cartomizer (I have been using a 1.5 ohm single coil cartomizer). Are there any VG optimized cartomizers out there I can use.

I want to clarify that when I use the word "cartomizer" I mean the hardware, not the hardware prefilled with VG eliquid.

I would really appreciate any advice or even better, a recommendation for a specific cartomizer I could use with my existing setup that would not flood or clog when vaping VG eliquid.

I am new to the whole vaping thing and I love it. If I could vape VG without any problems, it would be prefect.

Thanks so much for your help!! Peace.

It is inevitable that you clog up your carto faster with thicker juice. Same thing with darker juice that has a lot of solids in them.

That said, general rule of thumb is if youre flooding your carto, you have punched too many holes. If you dont get enough juice and therefore get burnt hit, you havent punched enough.

Generally i see people using thicker juices will punch 2-3 holes on their cartos.

Thanks for your reply. That's the funny thing. I just used a single hole cartomizer and didn't punch any extra holes and didn't make the existing hole bigger. It works great with PG but floods with VG. It seems like it should be the exact opposite since VG is thicker?

Are there any cardos with different batting or that are specifically made for VG?

i just punch my own cartos, makes all the difference for adjusting them to work for different juices, for 100% VG that uses like 20-25% flavor i use two large holes in the cartos. if its 100% with 5-10% flavor i use three holes but a little smaller holes.
i have had some bad luck using pre punched cartos for 100% VG so i cant offer any options for them.

Heavy vg based or dark colored e-liquids are an issue for all juice delivery devices. It's not a problem per se with the delivery devices, but they were not designed to work with such e-liquids.

If you vape specifically for these types of liquids, I suggest you find a juice delivery device that does not use a wicked materieal. Something like a dripping atomizer or bottom feeding box mod like the Reo or VMod from Vampage. If you already have a tube mod, something like the Vape Mate from Super T Manufacturing will work like a tank/atty system.

Just released on the market is the Killer 507 submersable atty that fits in any cartotank, and the AMP tank which uses any dripping atty in a specially designed tank. Both are pretty pricey, but soon less expensive clones will appear.
