I am new to vaping and I am exploring the different aspects of vaping starting with the Atty's. I have been using regular Atomizers exclusively since I began about 3 weeks now and I just received some Cartomizers. The difference is pretty pronounced, unless I'm doing something wrong. The regular atomizers are good they have worked well and I have been cleaning them regularly. I have replaced a few of the fiber carts with the Fluval fish tank filter material. I haven't got the size to make them down yet but I'm working on that. Now while I have been using the regular Atomizers I just started vaping with a Cartomizer and although it's a little premature I like the Cartomizer better because they hold more liquid and the flow seems to be better, now I have to do a price comparison and find the best way to clean them. I'm also wondering if there's less of a drain on the battery because I can get more vapor with less battery power,(at least that's how it seems) with a Cartomizer. So I will keep on with both types and see where it goes. Oh by the way this is all based on running with a 510 type E-Cig. Happy Vaping everyone!:thumb:

I'm with you on that. I, too, just started about 2 weeks ago. Started with attys and carts, and they work pretty good. There did seem to be quite a bit of filling and futzing with them. I ordered from cartos and they really seem to last a reasonably long time, with a "fuller" vape consistently thru the fill. I understand they're not known to last as long as attys, but it seems to be a fair trade off. I use the cartos in the car and at work, and drip at home with a passthru.

I too just started vaping, I mean like brand new I started yesterday, I got my Joye eGo w/ prefilled carts vaped through one prefilled then decided I wanted to try 1 of the juices (RY4) I bought from FS...then I stopped and stratched my head....how do I change flavors. So not knowing and notting to risk ruining any fillers I just dripped it. Seemed like I wasn't getting a consistent vape. I have cartos that will be here tomorrow...I'm excited to give 'em try...Anyone have any suggestions on how to clean the fiber in a cart for flavor changing? Happy vaping!

Cleaning the filler in a cartridge is as easy as pulling it out and soaking it in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. If you don't have that on hand, you can drop it in a bowl of really hot water until all of the juice is rinsed out. Squeeze out any excess IA or water and let it dry thoroughly.

NO NO NO. do NOT clean the filler in Isopropyl Alcohol.
Just rinse it under hot water.
Or get a bag of polly fill at Jo Ann fabrics, stuff a little bit in your cart and you're good to go.

You do NOT want to vape Isopropyl Alcohol.

I have been using 510 cartomizers exclusively for the past 5 months now. I have found them to be a lot less hassle than an atomizer and cartridge. The cartomizer holds enough liquid to vape for a few hours before I really need to refill/top off. I also haven't had any issues with overfilling. After I've filled up, I just blow out the excess into a paper towel and I'm good to go. I remember always flooding my atomizer before from overfilling the cartridge. Also, I remember topping off the cartridge every 15-20mins of vaping.

msuppitypats- To clean the fiber in the cartridge, you can just use a pair of tweezers and pull the filling out and run it under some tap water for a while to rinse out the liquied then pat it dry with a paper towel. You may still taste the old flavor from residue on the atomizer though, so you will want to use a different atomizer or clean it as well. I cleaned my atomizers by soaking them in hot water for a half hour or so, rinse under the tap, and let dry over night.

I think I like the cartos much better too! Like Iamfoltzy said- it's a real pain in the azz to keep topping off carts every 15 minutes. I cut my cart filler in 1/3 size and use it instead of the full filler that comes in the cart. It does help, but still the filler gets dry and needs to be topped off or poked around and back into the juice every 15 minutes to half hour. I vape pretty steady though too. The cartos just seem like a whole lot less hassle. I pre-fill them the night before, put the condoms back on them and let em soak overnight. I keep those in Altoid tins in case anything leaks in my purse

You don't end up vaping the IA because it evaporates completely. Just let the filler dry out overnight like you would an atomizer.

dont cartos wear out quicker tho? (510)

Yeah wont get 6 months out of one like you might get with an atty, but some can still last quite awhile, My first batch of CE2 carto's are like 3 weeks old now the only dead one is dead because I botched a surgery on it, I've used 2 of them every day since I got them. I don't mind spending $10 on a new pack every couple weeks for extra convenience, better then spending $10 on smokes every day.

My Ce2's just dont have the flavor and taste funny. How are you topping them off? How do you know they are full when you top them?

Some of them apparently shipped with a fair amount of primer inside them which could be your taste problem, they give me the best taste out of any other vaping method or other carto I've used. When the flavor starts to go off I refill usually shooting about 1.2ml in(XL's) All of yours have the taste problem? Royal Smoker's quality control isn't so hot you could open them up and soak them good, check out the wick's while you have it open and consider doing the PTB mod, I had one that was tasting a bit off when I opened to clean it I saw the wick was way to short did the PTB now it works great.

Actually vaping on one of the ones I did the PTB to about 2 weeks ago starting to taste a little off even with fresh juice might be time to do some surgery and see how the PTB has held up to 2 weeks of daily use.

If you let it completely dry and evaporate there should be little to nothing left of the rubbing alcohol to vape. I agree though, vaping it would not be healthy, so just make sure to let it all dry out overnight. Once it's dry I would tend to think it would be fine.

I am new to vaping (9 days vaping, 8 days analog free!). I have been trying and trying to like the atty/cart but the last 2 days I've been using the cartos pretty much full time. I tried the blue foam, and it worked great for the first couple fills, but now they just seem to not wick the juice good enough. After 3-4 amazing vapes I start to get the burnt taste, and have to wait a while for the foam to wick up to the atty (or I pop it open and put some more juice in there which gets old after a very short time). With my V4L cartos It seems I can chain vape for minutes on end and I only stop when the carto starts to feel too hot. Then I just put it down, or put on another carto and enjoy an effortless change to a new flavor!
