Well, darn it all -

Now that I've opened the Menthol carts, I see that they are 'tan', when I ordered white. Not the first time that's happened with Blu. I wasn't too ticked off in the past though because it was easy to swap out the cart cover. No so now. You're stuck with the color.

I see that it's 'wrapped' like a KR8 cart. When I finish with the first one, I shall peel off the wrapping to see what's underneath. Hoping it's stainless steel like other carts, I can live with that on my black and my white batteries.

ETA: I couldn't wait any longer so I peeled the 'tan' off the cartomizer and ... HALLELUIA! a very nice looking stainless steel cart lies beneath. Very nice looking on both black and white. Wow, they should sell some that look like this. Black and silver is a striking match, now that I've been looking at it a little while.

As for the sticky paper covering, it was rather easy to get rid of all of it. Easier than peeling the V4L KR8 carts are. The glue is tackier and you have to use your fingernail for awhile but you can get it all of without soap or water or anything. After I got all the paper off, I rubbed it on my jeans leg for a while and it turned out perfect.

I just disassembled one of these, they contain a fiberglass straw running the length of the cart, the heater coil crosses a notch in this straw halfway down the cart and there is a wick wrapped around it along with the filler material.
I vaped it until I got a couple of burned tasting hits, when I cut it open I found the fill to be quite dry.
I did not see any burned fill, but don't vape too long after that first burned taste as it seemed to use up almost all the juice.

I think this is a good direction for blu to take, the cartos seem to produce great vapor and taste.
Now if they'd just speed up their service and offer a better pcc.

The new cartomizers came today. I ordered them a week ago, so it was pretty fast. I have some sort of negative comments and some positive ones.

First off, it tastes like Johnson creek juice, not the original classic tobacco that I like so much. But I expected that. I still have stock in the old CT carts. I have yet to find a juice that tastes like it, but I am still on that quest. (Please let me know if you have found a juice that tastes the same as the old stuff.

Secondly, they aren't black plastic. They are like other cartomizers; covered with that crappy contact paper. Blu did a good job, though. The seam isn't noticeable and the sticker is flush with the end of the carto.

Thirdly, they don't have condoms. (they have a little one over the threads, but that doesn't count.) V4L condoms are too big to use the condom refill method. The caps from a 902 from Modern Vapor fit nice and tight, so I think those would work. Those are very short, so you'd need to fill two or three times if you use that refill method.

Lastly, they make that sizzling sound. But that's normal for cartomizers.

None of these are really bad negatives.

On the plus side; They have hard caps, like the original V4L cartos, but they're black, and they aren't glued on, so are easy enough to get off with a binder clip. The "take the cap off to fill them" method will work.

The ENTIRE cartomizer is filled with stuffing! (my penstyle cartomizer is only about half full of stuffing. V4L cartos are about 2/3 full) That should hold enough juice to last a good long time. I'm guessing it will hold twenty or so drops.

Since Blu hasn't shipped my batteries yet, I am using the new cartos on a nicostick - this may make a difference. I chain vaped for over an hours twice today and each hit was as good as the last. It is still going strong and the filling still looks damp. I don't think they will need topped off as often as a V4L or a penstyle carto. Blu may be right about getting 250 hits from one carto. That would be a whole pack of king size analogs; a half a pack for people like me who smoke 120s. I think they are worth the price. Definitely worth it if you refill them. I don't know yet how many times they can be refilled. Time will tell.

I got tons of vapor from it. Better than the best hit from an old Blu. It is the same amount of vapor as from my penstyle or from an analog. It feels like a cigarette; lots of vapor and slightly warm.

I like cartos. I like the ease of using them,. They are easy to change on the go. They don't leak. The vapor production is consistent from beginning to end. There is no wasted juice. There is no hassle of constant refilling; just fill a bunch and toss them in your purse and you're set for the week.

I can't explain why, but for some reason I didn't care for the V4L, even though it has cartos. I love my penstyle, but only use it at home. It is too big to whip out in public. Blu is great for a stealth vape, and tiny enough to wear as a necklace, but vapor production was bad - inconsistent at best.

I like these little cartos from Blu. It is a definite improvement on the product. With the new cartomizers, they seem to have hit on the best of all the e-cig models I have tried. I would recommend them to anyone.

I got towards the end of my first one and started getting a chemical/plastic taste. So I dissected it and found that the wick had a black, charred hole through it where the heating element sits. Not so pleased about smoking whatever that wick is made of. Not sure if normal or not since I'm new to this cartomizer thing.

In Blu's vendor thread someone said I let the cart get too dry and it burned up the wick. Pay attention or you'll be smoking your wick up.

It looks like they don't have "white" anymore. I've ordered what I thought would be white carts three times now and I always get tan or 'natural'. Now they've changed their banner pictures on the blucig homepage to reflect only 'black' (all black on starter kit: batts and carts) and 'natural' (tan cartos pictured with the white starter kit). The drop down menus you have to fill out when ordering no longer has white as an option. I hope they bring back white as a cart color, I've not really ever liked the tan. It's too plasticky looking - even when it has 'freckles' on it. And it just doesn't look as good as an all white ecig does, IMO.

I am thinking of empty cartomizers buying from eliquidplanet they have the 306 cartomizers 5 for 15 bucks shipping included..one problem they dont say what the colors of are..They say they will fit blu batteries..Thats all I need the carts and put in my own jc ejuice...I'll post later if I buy and try them..I only use my blu for steath vaping and my 808 for home and driving..

I wish the batteries on the blue were a little longer...And also I use the blu cartomizers on my 510 manual, looks a little odd but it does work..Carts a little smaller on my 510..Dont use 510 auto with the new blu cartomizer there extremely to sensitve to the slightest draw and might not shut off,but they do will on 510 manual in which you have better control..

I actually checked with a cigarette lighter, neither the wick itself nor the "straw" in the center of the carto will burn, probably made of glass fiber.
The polyfill sort of shrinks and gives off smoke, but it didn't seem to change color, the smoke didn't have much smell either.
I know from experience cleaning CE2 type cartos that the juice will burn and cake onto a wick which makes it appear burnt,
tastes pretty bad too.

You should notice a little of taste thats what I found out with mine.I think 1 cart is equal to 8 to 10 reg cig,but I constantly
vape...I have them down to no vape at all..I just pop off cap and put my own vapor juice about 4 or 5 drop and let it soak for 20 minutes laying it down horizally..pop cap again I put in another 2 to 3 drop and I am ready to go..I dont like the ejuice thats the carts come with I prefer my own which is alittle stronger..

I like my Blu. I love the new cartos. They are easy to refill, but I think I am doing something wrong. Occasionally, when I vape a refilled carto, little drops of hot liquid pop out onto my tongue. It feels like molten lava or an electrical shock! It is most unpleasant. What is going on here? I know I am refilling them right. Other people have had good luck with this method. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andgelique you have probably overfilled them just a tad. Try blowing through the end you would suck onto a paper town. Make sure to wipe the end with connector when your done. You will most likely get a good drop coming out, maybe less, but it can definetly make a difference. You might also have a cartomizer that isnt the best for refilling. Refilling can work great, especially with nice cartos, but if blu are a little more generic (which I would think they are) then you just might have a dud. Try blowing it out and if that doesnt work then it might be a bad carto.
