I've read / heard cartomizer refill numbers like 13 times, up to 30 times or so. The minute mine begin to even HINT of a burnt taste I put them in my "refill" drawer to be refilled. I'm new, so the most I've refilled any cart is maybe 4 or 5 times.

I'm with you on the atomizer thing. I know people personally, and certainly here on ECF, who definitely prefer them to carts. But they're constantly dropping or dipping and topping off, and they don't mind a bit.

The way I vape, a cart seems to last me about 1.5 days. But I like to switch carts for different flavors, so I've really stopped counting.

I think 5-10 times is probably a good average. I have several that I use every day, and so far my best one lasted a little over 3 weeks. The trick is to not let them get dried out and overheat. If you are getting a lot of vapor but not much taste, that is about the perfect spot to refill. If the vapor drops off quickly or you start getting a burnt taste, time to stop. If you persist after getting a burnt taste, it'll likely be no good for refilling.

There are a couple of good threads in the Vapor4Life forum about refilling the cartomizers:

Also, I saw a recent discussion about using a blunt-needle syringe to refill the carto - I may give that a try.

I've used the blunt needle syringe on blanks and it has worked well. The first time some came out the end but I'm going to use Tayrn's idea of putting the plastic plug and rubber on that end when filling from the top. Also might incorporate the 'spin' - thanks for that link - and then continue the fill after that. I was able to go right through the mouthpiece hole with the syringe and 'felt' my way past the rubber internal insert - still did it on a 45 degree angle and rotated as I was plunging. I got a good 2 hours out of a blank but I'm thinking using the plug and spin might get more in there. I'll be trying it today, if I can stop vaping the cafe mocha frap long enough. That's my new favorite ;-)
