Cartridge Filler Question

The blue foam is called AquaClear- I believe- It is also sold in the aquarium sections of pet stores... PetSmart as a specific place that definitely carries it.. It is a bit more firm than the Fluval... I haven't tried it yet, pics of it to me look almost like a plasticy type material... supposedly bit isn't... My Fluval works great so I have never had the need to change to it- For some people they like it better than Fluval but some never used the Fluval before going to blue filler- it worked for them so they didn't try Fluval- The old adage...

Once you find what works for you with satisfactory results, not really a reason to try anything else-

Now I'm really intrigued. What is the "blue foam" method?.

It is called Marineland Bonded Foam Sleeve for all Hot Magnum Canister Filters.
You can get it at Petco and probably some other pet supply stores.

Most people are using size "U" but there are a lot of sizes.
As far as I know nobody has experimented with any of the other sizes though.

I'm going to head out to the pet store this morning and get some fluval and blue foam. I tried the tea bag method and didn't have much luck with it. It seems there are many different methods and I likely didn't try them all but gave up when I noticed how much precious liquid I was wasting.

Between rinsing the original, the fluval and the blue foam, I should be able too accomplish something.
