Carts versus clearos?

HI,
Up until the beginning of this month (Jan) I had been using a cigalike with carts which I refilled myself. I then switched to a bigger battery with Ce4 clearos.
I have to say that although the battery life is a big bonus I get more satisfaction from the cigalike, more vapour and better taste.
Would it make any difference if I switched to carts instead of the clearos? It is a 510 thread so I assume there are refillable carts that would fit. Any recomendations?

Hi Phil, do you mean cartos (cartomisers)? I know it's confusing but carts are really just mouth pieces that hold the juice & you use them with a separate atomiser.

I also still prefer cartomisers (I use Boge 510 LR ones) to clearomisers - I more than anything prefer the draw on them -

Boge cartos are great, the best thing is to punch them by yourself and use them in a carto-tank (vaperfexion, kir fanis...).
The only reason I use a Vivi Nova, which is IMO the best clearomizer, is for thicker VG juices that don't vape that well in cartos.
So it will depend on your PG/VG ratio.

For me, Cartos taste and vape better an clearos are more simple to use. I have a Vivi Nova on the way and next month I will get a carto tank, then I will make a decision from there.

I got some SmokTech blank cartos (1.7 ohm single coil, XL) from MyFreedomSmokes.com and they are what I use for now.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant cartomisers but the sherry must be interfering with the keyboard on my laptop. I've just ordered some juice (due tomorrow) but I will give them a go next time I order anything.

Lol, don't worry Phil Lots of folks type carts instead of cartos I just did need to make sure which you meant

I can't remember which ciggie lookalike you have, but if it has a 510 thread, you can try out the cartomisers that came with it on your bigger battery.

Hi Chrissie,
From what I can find out the cigalike I have has the RN4081 thread. I cant work out why an ecig retailer that only sells 2 systems (cigalike starter kits and 510 clearomiser kits) would choose to sell uncompatable systems. Surely they would sell more if their customers could start with a basic kit and then work their way up as they get used to vaping.

Phil, it's similar to what E-lites have done - ie nothing compatible, therefore once you buy the kit from them, you have to carry on buying their cartomisers from them as nothing else will fit - that's how they make their money

I was a big Boge carto fan for a long time. Once the QC got sketchy I started looking around for something else. I tried carto tanks and liked them pretty well. I tried various other brand cartos but found nothing that worked really well.

A few weeks ago I read a thread about the Vision Vivi Nova and decided to try it. I really didn't like the size so I bought the 2.0ml mini. It's been really good, so much that I order another one for backup and a bunch of new heads and a spare tube just in case I get a crack.

The Vivi Nova is really easy to fill. I use a hypodermic at home and I fill from a 3ml sample bottle on the go. Both work. The vape is good and the heads last me almost a week. I've found that when I change a head I can wash the old one under hot water in the sink and put it aside to dry. When it's time to change I install the washed head an it vapes like a new one.

I'm sure there's something as good or better out there, but I like the Vivi Nova better than anything I've tried to date and the mini model is still compact and fits in a pocket well.
