Yeah, it's definitely relative. I guess I think it's steep for a China mod. I have a Svapiamo SX350 and, honestly, I don't think it's worth the price of admission if paying new retail price. I'm got mine in trade and feel okay about it given the value of what I sent in return for the Svapiamo.

As for attys, I currently only use CH BF Derringers and a CH BF Freakshow Mini. I will be having my Mephisto V2 and Lancia modified for BF... I actually meant to send those in to Tom last week but could never get to the post office after work before they closed. The Derringers are *awesome*. The FSM is very good, but not great, IMO. I previously had a Lancia clone modified by CH for BF and it was fantastic so I know the authentic will be quite good as well.

Thanks. I had purchased an Svapiamo mechanical before I noticed their regulated BF, it is actually my first..There was only one regulated with a picture of internals and it turned me off. Del Sol I believe is a better bang for the buck. But it appears in Italy mods are priced like Ferrari's (as in some other places). This doesn't go away unless chip prices come down even if you solder your own. Yes, CH seems the way to go and I like the mini Freakshow, but I don't quite get how to make a purchase. I'm not noob, but I can be kinda slow.

PM Chowderhead72... I *think* the recent batch of FSMs is in the house.

The FSM is good, don't get me wrong, but not as good as the Derringers. They do look sweet on a Peko though. :)

I like the FSM.. But I've found that you don't wanna take the cap off. The juice and condensation that builds on the inside of the cap gets around the bottom of the atty where the air flow is and seeps out. Not a huge deal, and it's not like it pours out. Just kind of annoying.

Thanks again. I was looking at the sheet and finally saw the instruction at the top...slow. :) I have inquired about a Veritas. I like the idea of building a dual coil on a single piece of wire. I was building quads that way on a Cats atty before things got all "squonky".

Man, about a year and a half ago I was using a authentic brass stingray and a brass cats rda. It was my daily, took it everywhere. Til one day I go into walmart and leave the mod in my truck, i come out 15 minutes later to a truck full of toxic smoke and a mod so hot it burnt my hands and when it dropped on the floor it burnt a hole in my floor mats! I took my mechanic gloves and ripped the battery out, it was a vtc 4 that luckily didn't explode but it was super freakin hot. And it dropped below bringing it back.. the cats rda was literally toasted also. A $130 atty gone after not even a month of use. That day I looked into bottom feeders and boxes and never went back. My stingray survived but I despise that thing and the stupid bottom button. My truck smelled toxic for days afterward.

I have a Nemesis that autofired on me in my pocket. Luckily, I felt the heat and got it out before any damage, but yeah, they can keep the bottom button tube mods.

I still like the Cats and the other pieces of metal I burned up money on, learning the coils was fun. I like squonk because its such a smart way to wet a wick. Like Monster Cloud and Cat were smart for a while before they got so dusty. It's all learning curve and hype and it's so easy to cash in a cart at 3 am. So far no fires...When in doubt take the battery out.

he replaced the sled and the firing button as both were trashed...on a mod that was supposed to be 3months old...hmmmm.itll be right when I get it though!wish I coulda got the sx-350j though!!

Very cool, Rick! Hopefully the battery sled in yours is not as tight as it is in mine. Absolutely destroys battery wrappers. I tried upgrading mine to 60W (which should be doable), but could never get the driver to recognize the board.

Try it out for a bit before you start sanding on it. If you don't like it, I won't mind giving it a rub down and polish.

Thanks - but I have 2 :) - I was askin' Kiwi. Seemed like it might be up his alley...
Me, I'm looking forward to you coming out with something that's <20mm diam - I know you're working on stuff.

Oh how I wish I did. I can get them BUT I have to buy 100 of them at a time and God only knows how long it would take to Get a pair them, I would bet on 2 months or more. And almost 4k tied up for those 2 months. Ken has 2 that he is considering re-homing I would gladly relinquish my dibs on one of them for you Train.

Yeah - it's an atty where you gotta find the right hole size and stick with it. Cuz stock is absurd - you can't hardly pull air through the hole, cuz the molecules are too big. I just thought of it for ya, because it's Cyclone tiny - but laid out for a dual...

Nope! I've kinda been shunning atties without Afc [emoji51]

All you need is .035, .050, 1.5mm if you get into the bigger stuff a 4mm flat head, and a 3mm phillips. You should see my collection... Over $2k in just hudy drivers, let that sink in.. I have 3 of each of the size I mentioned. I still need to order a pair od 2.5mm and a replacement shaft. I use 2.5 a lot on the 510s of the better attys.

Well, I'll work up to one of each.....of the basics, I'm a light weight

Finally took 20 minutes out to get the Monster/Raptor going. I coiled up a Veritas type dual coil (one piece of wire 2 coils (2 8 wrap 28ga 3mm .74 ohm) filled the bottle op with Kilo Trublue and away we went. The Keepower 5200mah batteries won't push 40 watts but seem to be doing ok at 36w. I have 4 of the higher amp lower mah Keepowers on the way. The Raptor is perfect for the 40w limitation due to the tine chamber, medium airflow and long dwell time but it just doesn't hit like the TMod at .247/ Sammy 25r but that's to be expected. The Marquis will need 2mm coils on the E7 no doubt. Man I wish the E7 monster had a SX350. I have been running the combo pretty hard for the last hour but haven't seen the battery drop much if at all. The Monster is nice but I can't wait until the next DNA board is out, I just hope I can get it retrofitted.

Well I'm glad you finally found some "me" time to get the raptor and E7 online. Nice setup for sure. It sounds like you're not satisfied with the 40 watts. :p Have you tried it with Ni yet?

Hey Chowder, do I need to send shipping costs to you in order to get the new top cap for the Vertex?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No. I will be sending them first class as soon as I get a minute to do so. I will be sending the Derringer o-rings at the same time.
