I quite smoking cigarettes 6 weeks ago with no problem or cravings as soon as I picked up my first ego kit at a local mom and pop. I think the desire to quite is a strong influence in how easy or hard it can be. Not having to give up nicotine is just too cool and a plus as well. To satisfy my fixation as well as get my fix, I haven't really given up anything except a shorter lifespan.

I started lurking here at the ECF right away and realized there is a lot more to this than just getting an ego kit and some juice. It's an awesome hobby, a science, and unfortunately with my addictive personality, an obsession. However, I'm like that with everything. I'm determined to find the cheapest prices, best ways of doing things, and DIY if possible.

I've learned so much here. I've already started my own DIY juice, found the best and cheapest places to get supplies, discovered what can harm you, settings that work best for different equipment and toys, and have some cool equipment. Thanks to all who contribute here so unselfishly.

With all that said, I know I still have a lot to discover and am looking forward to it. The hobby, science, and knowledge part of it are a driving and enjoyable force. I honestly do hope the obsession part does taper off a bit though. Anyway, I feel like I already know a lot of you and look forward to being a contributor as well.

Thanks for all the info and making this an easy start.

Congrats on the switch! As many might see, you might spend MORE on vaping devices than smoking but finding what works for you is best!
Find your sweet spot of what works for you. I recently got into rebuildable devices and still am satisfied with a small ego battery w/ a ce4 and good juice while working. Figure out what mg levels you want to curb your craving, and have a lower mg level juice for when you want to "chain vape".
Some are here to save money and for the health benefits but when you want that new device, think about if you want or need it
Have fun and enjoy the healthy lifestyle choice

Ya. I'm still quite happy with my ego batteries. They're my stealth setup. I wanted one APV that did it all so got the SVD. Got it on Fasttech for 37.00 so felt justified about it. It's by no means stealth but in 18350 mode it's a good driving around mod. I just like having it. It's cool. I just wanted one and I'm happy with that.

I started with 36mg and still like it a lot. I have some 24mg and 30mg that works for most times. I don't really have any cravings for a real cigarette. However, I do like some of the tobacco flavors, strong fruit flavors, and a good throat hit.

I try desperately to get my smoking friends to change over and always brag to them about how little I spend on actual smoke stuff. The pluses are endless. I can smoke in my house, in my truck, change flavors, etc. etc. but they just keep smoking cigarettes. I don't get it. O well.

Thanks for all the replies and welcomes.

A lot of the friends/acquaintances that smoked and said vaping was a "fad" have since switched over
Always remember that most of us were smokers and tried the cig-a-like batteries which might have kept us from making the switch.
The ego style batteries being so common now makes it easy for people to see that ecigs do work when they find the appropriate mg/ml ratio

I do sympathize with smokers though as we all are propably guilty of falling into habits that are easy and that work, so finding that setup that works is key to stick with vaping. Sounds like you have made the switch and arent looking back which is awesome

The only people that give me crap about vaping are usually current smokers or people who never have which is understood
Cheers
