Hi all,

after lurking the forum for a while and comparing everything here I caved in and ordered an apollo standard starter kit.
I think it will be an ideal kit for my needs as I'm not a heavy smoker and I like the cig aesthetic.

As a technophile I'm really excited to get my hands on the device,
my wife however still needs some convincing.

She's a little afraid of internet bought consumables,
but I think that with apollo as a starter not much can go wrong...

Well I'll keep lurking and learning.
Nice informative community.

Thank you.

Like I said the biggest challenge will be to convince the wife.
I'm a very sporadic smoker you see, I quit for several months, than smoke one pack, and quit for several months again...
When I heard about e cigs I thought it would be the ideal sollution.
Use it when I want to, almost zero health risk.

She sees it as an excuse to smoke more.

Grats and good luck. BTW in the National Forums section of ECF you'll find a Europe forum and a UK forum (UK has some decent vendors, particularly Liberty-Flights.co.uk). If you got the small Apollo I am thinking of they say it's not compatible with anything and I do not recognize the model (looks like one but but can't be because it has the screw thread gender of another) so you'll have to get your supplies from Apollo other than eliquid.

Well they're kind of cheap, so that doesn't matter.
I weighed all the pros and cons, and a regular 510 just seems too big for me.
At the moment I smoke 3 to 5 analogs a day (very irregularly) so the small battery wont hinder me.
I'm more concerned about taste and getting too much nicotine. I get headaches fairly quick even with analogs.
So I didn't want a blaster like the eGo models,
I want the feeling of normal smoke with a little nicotine, not a truckload of vapour and a nicotine od...

There's something to be said about size and I thought I wanted something small to start with. After charging batteries once an hour and always having one charging, I bought an Ego. I carry it in a pants or coat pocket just fine and the battery size just seemed normal very quickly. With 5 to 6 hours battery life on an Ego vs an hour or so on the slim 510, I learned to like it and never looked back.

My wife, OTOH, likes the 180mah 510 so I have many spare batteries for her plus a charge and carry case she can use. Preference is personal.

A regular Joye 510 is hardly bigger than a cig. 100mm with a cartomizer (the way most use them) and 9.2 mm diameter. And they have nice sealed manual batteries available. But what you got should be similar, just less flexible and not with manual batteries.

They have manual batteries too...
I bought auto's, mainly because I think it'll convince some of my friends to try e cids too...
