So I finally picked a few of these up to try. I have never been one for cartomizers I have always used Attys. So this is totally new to me.
I followed the instructions to the T and filled a 2.4-2.6ohm CE2 with some Dekang 3&5 24mg juice. I tried it right away and found it to have little taste. I wasnt impressed.
After a little surfing I found that you really need to let them sit for 10min so the wick soaks up the juice into the coil and a little pre-drip on the coil helps start the wicking process.

I did this and it tastes much better. Good Vapor and flavor. I was happy.

Problem is that after a few puffs it goes back to tasting like a dry atty. I sometimes tip the CE2 over to slosh around the juice but that doesnt help much.

Seems the juice is not traveling up with wick very well. I am using PG liquid that is not thick at all.

So Im wondering, is there a way to get these things to wick better? or is this a drawback to the CE2's?
I really would like to say I like these but at this point it seems more of a novelty then a good solution to dripping constantly.

I tried a lightly higher ohm CE2 and that made no difference. I also tried different home made juices but those had a 30% vg mix to them and it didnt get any better.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Are you using the stock whistle tip, the plug, or your own drip tip?

I've found that these do make a difference in flavors...and for me, some flavors work better with a different tip (so I'm not on the same tip all the time). Why? the temperature of the vape, and the distance it goes before hitting the pallet, and...where it hits on the pallet is all changed a bit with the different tips.

Next...some folks report that lifting the lower ring (the one with the fill holes in the side) a bit can help. If the wicks get too tight against the notches in these rings...the liquid gets hung up (as good wicks are largely about surface area).

Don't tip these upside down too often...and when you do, give it some time for the air part of a good wicking formula to come back. The new fat wicks will pull through a LOT of juice. I've seen hot rodders crank these things up to 5v and chain vape them to half a tank before they start having any wicking issues at all. That's when they 'tip' it to rewet the wicks.

There is a PTB mod on youtube somewhere. People used them fairly often with the older wick designs (Rev 4 and earlier), but even so...it was mainly HV guys that needed that extra draw.

What size/type battery are you using? Just courious...it shouldn't matter really if it's a well charged battery at least 3.4v. If you have a second fully charted battery try it on that...just in case one is getting weak.

Maybe try some others in your package with some different juices and flavors if you haven't already. If they all are dissapointing to you...not sure it's something that can be fixed. Maybe you're just not a CE2 guy?

I'm really loving mine so far, but I have to admit I've only tried a handfull of juices in them.
Most of my juices are Flux Nectar 60/35/5 from gotvapes (that five being water and or alcohol and nicotine).
Some are 80/20 from Tasty Vapor, and do well.
I also have 50/50 from honeyville that do ok, but not as good as the others.

My all PG and 90/10 from TV works...but not as well as the others.

Why? the temperature of the vape, and the distance it goes before hitting the pallet, and...where it hits on the pallet is all changed a bit with the different tips. Tried with both my drip tip and the rubber tip that came with the CE2's. I like the rubber because of the size but it gets hotter. Both seem to give me the same amount of flavor

Next...some folks report that lifting the lower ring (the one with the fill holes in the side) a bit can help. If the wicks get too tight against the notches in these rings...the liquid gets hung up (as good wicks are largely about surface area).I will try this, thanks.

I dont have a use for this as I am just using my RIVA. I would think they would need to use a much high OHM CE2 to do this anyhow

Maybe you're just not a CE2 guy?I really hope this is not the case. I want to like these things. They arent horrible by any means, just need to get them to work right for me

Thanks a ton for the info, I will try loosening the ring to see if that helps.

Yes, the HV people usually go for higher resistence versions and PTB = Pyramid Tea Bags...they snip the stock wicks and tuck folded up bits of PTB between the wick stubs and sleeve. At normal voltages I doubt very seriously anyone would 'need' this mod. You'd have to replace normal breathing with vaping to push these wicks that far I think (Unless you have a defective one on both sides, or a juice that just clings and refuses to wick...etc...not very likely)

Oh...I almost forgot...I over filled a few on my first box of these. I've found that there should be a good air bubble all the way around at the top at least. To make it easy on myself, I just stop when it gets a little above the bottom of the black sock around the ceramic bowl. Having a bit of air in the sleeve does help wicking a lot.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I think I will take all of the advice I have just gotten from you and try to open up the wick slots a lil.

I will let you all know how that works out for me.

So far I have been using a 2.4ohm Clearomizer on my RIVA 510 with Dekang 3&524mg and its satisfying me so long as I dont chain vape.

Thank you all.
