I just noticed, this CE2 I have been using for about a month has 5 wraps to it's coil. It was the first out of the pack so I looked at them all and 2 out of 5 CE2's have 5 wraps and 3 have 4 wraps. Side by side the 5 wraps hits better and makes bigger clouds. These are all 3.0 ohm CE2's I use with 5 volts.

Sadly this wick shows signs of falling apart even though the coil is going strong. I may have to try and replace this wick soon somehow, I don't want to stop using this nice 5 coil wrap CE2 as long as it works.

If we could buy all 5 coil CE2's with consistency that would rock.

Ah ha! I never noticed this! Been using the CE2s for a month or so as well, and have continually been puzzled over their general inconsistency in performance. I've sorted out pinched wicks, other wicking issues caused by the top-cap being on too tight (even thought the side-slots line up correctly with the wick), and so on. I'd resigned myself to the notion that when they work, they're great, but when they don't I shrug and toss the misbehaving one in my recycle box.

It won't necessarily save any of my "bad" CE2s, but it does (to me) explain why the ones that fail to perform to my liking are there.

Thanks for the tip!! Only thing is, I'll probably end up counting the coil windings on them every time I have a chance. That'll probably be distracting. Oh well... :)

I noticed it cus when I popped open the second one out of this batch (this is my 2nd box of ce2's) the coils didn't have a nice uniform corkscrew shape like they should have, 2 were off to one side and 2 were off to the other side so I decided to compare that one to the one I was using for a month.

I fiddle with mine a lot to make them work good. I remove the white caps inside altogether and put a drip tip on the top of the tube. You just have to keep them upright or they will spill out. I wrap the tubes with transparent tape to prevent cracking and I even put a ring of tape around the bottom where the tube site so it will make a tighter no drip seal. I rinse them out every time the juice starts to get dirty enough to effect taste, do a small dry burn then refill. Perhaps some of these ideas could help your "bad" CE2's.
