SmokTech Punched Cartomizer for tanks
I got on these because I prefer 100% VG juice and I have had a hard time finding a carto that will feed VG well enough with the small holes. I also tried slotting a Vision from Ikenvape but I ended up damaging a few, so I found a reliable alternative.
The CE2 DCT-2 has a huge hole and it's super cheap. I got a few and the first one lasted for weeks vaping Boba's Bounty in my Artemis tank. I was in love, but I kept getting dry hits, even burnt hits, and it was bugging me. I tried tilting, opening the tank for ventilation, shaking, even some PG juices, but I couldn't fix it. I read on here that you can pull on it without actually vaping (no button press) and it seemed to help with wicking, but still not great.
So I decided to mod it. I opened it up, like you can see in the picture on the first link. Screw it down on a battery or mod and grip it close to the threads and just kinda bend it like you're breaking a pencil, gently, but firm, rotate it a little bit and keep doing it, you'll see it start to loosen. Just keep doing it til you can slide it off. Slide it off slowly, because the gasket is a tight fit.
Once you get it off you'll see it's almost exactly like a Vivi Nova. It has the rubber cap over the wicks with little slits for the wicks. Pull that cap off the wicks and cut the slits a little bigger, about .5 millimeter deeper into the cap, both sides. Put it back on, make sure there is a slight gap over the wicks.
Now trim the wicks to about a centimeter or less from the cap and then unravel them.
Slide the metal tube back over them, but don't put the wicks in line with the holes, put them 90 degrees from the holes. Push it down until it's locked back in place.
Put it inside your tank, fill the tank, then put a couple drops down inside the tube, right on the coil, this will get it flowing. Now, tilt the tank around and you'll see bubbles coming out of the holes, keep doing this until you get as many bubbles out as you can. It should be good to go at this point.
I did this almost 24 hours ago and it's been vaping better than it ever has and I've vaped like 8 or so of these CE2 DCT-2s and they all end up with burn hits after 4 or 5 good long pulls. It also makes a ton more vapor than it did before. The only downside is that it goes through juice a little bit faster than before, but that's not a big deal.
If you guys need pics just say so and I will get them up ASAP. Happy vaping!
