Been using the R3s happily...aside from the leaking. Finally got some R4s, made a few test batches with my new Capella flavors, and it tastes like a**. Thought I was my mixes until I loaded one with one of my go-to all-day liquids. What is the god-aweful, chemically, rubbery, nasty taste that I'm getting? And I did a dry-burn before filling...just in case (and I was surprised to see some vapor off of my dry burn...no primer, huh?). Anyone else getting this? Makes me wonder what RS did differently to prevent the leaking...tastes like I'm vaping a silicone lube mixed with motor oil.

I clean them before I use them. I take a syringe of very hot water and put it into the fill holes and flush it out… blow out with air with the syringe and sling out any remaining water. I usually put them under a warm high intensity lamp to finish drying. I’ve gone directly to fill without the lamp drying and they work fine too. I haven’t had any bad flavors since doing that.

Glad I found this thread, same thing here. I got a pack in today and filled with my fav juice and the taste was aweful. Like a plastic, rubbery taste and the smell to go along with it. I love the draw and feel, almost like a atomizer but I'm trying to vape this taste away thinking it's something they did from the factory but I'm not so sure anymore. If anything it's getting worse. I also tried 1 drip to the coil area and it might have slightly helped for 1 draw but then back to yuk.

The taste seemed to dissipate over time (after tolerating it and doing refills). I also did a rinse and purge with pure ethanol on a few new ones and that seemed to do the trick. No problems since, but it was still annoying and concerning. Traded a few for the 3.0 ohm and rinsed those as well. OT - I know a lot of posts were made about the 2.5 ohm vs. 3.0 ohm, but on my eGo I MUCH prefer the 2.5s.

Same problem here, I heard only 2.5ohm versions have this problem not the 3.0ohms. I have rinsed in hot water, soaked in liquor similar to vodka, boiled for ages and still get the same taste. Its my first time trying e2 and I don't know if I should risk ordering 3.0ohm version. If would be nice to know a way to fix this

Same issue here, I've ordered multiple packs from 3 different suppliers and they were all the same... strange chemical taste, at best a hint of the flavor I actually put in them. Everything I tried was a fail, best I got was putting them on my Buzz and adjusting the voltage, but even that wasn't as good as straight atty or a boge LR.
