Question for people with leaking issues:

How much does it leak for you? I've noticed that the threads of the CE3 occasionally become covered in a coating of juice, but nothing much past that. It seems pretty minor for me so far and I usually just wipe the threads, does anyone have it worse? I've also noticed this seems to happen when the juice level falls below half.

still easily the best option I've found.

Well, there have been a dud or two.

Overall, though, leakage isn't a major problem for me, outweighed by the better vape and flavor. I have found the point to which I need to vape the liquid before refilling, and filling upside down and achieving a vacuum is very important. Once in a while I miss the mark and mess things up. I do keep the threads of the batteries as clean as possible. If I notice too much gurgle, I change the CE3. There shouldn't be any and the threads shouldn't constantly have liquid on them. May have to wipe the threads or top of the battery once directly after filling, but after that there should be no need to. I'm looking forward to the new SI exclusives, though.

Based on what I've read, I guess I've been fortunate. No leakers thus far, however I've only used 3 or 4 up until now. I did manage to toast a coil but that was my own fault. I even tried MrOutlaw's vinegar and baking soda trick to try and break the crud loose. No dice. Had to toss that one due to the nasty burned taste.

Hmmm. Kia2, that's interesting about the gurgling. All of mine gurgle and pop so I figured that was normal for the CE3's. Is that an indication of leaks somewhere? I'm not finding any liquid on any of the threads and other than condensation, no moisture on the batteries.

When my CE3s get about half way down, they gurgle............Juice gets between the mouth peice and the the silicone typically and one small dot on the battery. As I have said previously, if all I did was wipe the juice off the bat and wipe out the mouth peice, I could sit it on the table and no other juice would leak unless I vaped it again.

Otherwise, I love the CE3s and even with all the hassle; I still like them.

Yeah, same here, every now and then if I'm not paying attention I'll feel the juice coming out of the threads when I push the button (I use manuals). If I don't let it get under the half way point, the leaking is less.

Ya mine gurgle and pop too, never been an issue. When I say leaking its very minimal, nothing is dripping out or spilling liquid, just that the threads have a bit of juice in them.

I had a similar thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...f-full-then-leak-mr-outlaw-where-you-lol.html, and Awsum went to town on trying to get to the bottom of it!

Some initial observations from dis-assembly. .The silicon top seal seems to be in good shape. .There are no visible irregularities around the outer circumference or at the air tube hole. .The piercing from the syringe looks clean and .has a sort of arch shape that appears to close tightly. .The unit seemed to have a good seal since after the silicon seal was removed the liquid remaining in it leaked out of the battery end.

Examination of the barrel, or outer shell, revealed many stress cracks, some of which appear to go through the wall entirely. .There are four areas that are longitudinal with the longest being almost .75" long and the shortest being .625" long. .They are located at about 90 degree intervals around the barrel which would indicate, to me, that they are a result of tension being set too high on machinery that handled the barrel during manufacture. .There is another area of stress fractures at the base where the barrel mounts to the atomizer assembly. .Again, some of the fracture line appear to go completely through the wall of the outer barrel. .The wicks are set 90 degrees from the wick ports, which I think, is normal. .The coil, itself, is clean with no apparent residue from heating.

Based on what I have seen with this one so far, I think the problem came once the liquid got below the level of the array of stress fractures in the barrel. .They are almost uniform in where they start, which is about .5" from the top of the barrel.

If you experience the problem of leaks 1/2 way through a CE3 full of liquid, examine it by holding it horizontal to a source of light and rotate it. .Stress cracks will show up as whiteish lines in the plastic. .I think that is the culprit.

Seems many of them have "stress cracks" which seems to be the root cause. SI has new ones coming out this week though along with new clearos http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...e-bottom-coil-clearomizers-coming-9-12-a.html (and a contest to name them where you can win $100 store credit! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...usive-clearomizer-100-prizes.html#post7156908)...

My first 2 boxes w/the first batch didn't have those stress cracks, I just had 2 that wouldn't fire, one which leaked all juice out within minuets, and one that leaked all juice out within a day...didn't matter what I did. The rest are still working perfectly.

I bought 3 boxes this time and the first box, all 5 had the stress cracks...many of them all around the barrel. I opened 2 in the second box and found the same thing. Haven't checked the others yet. But so far, I've filled 5, no leaks yet as they're still really full...and I wrapped my label covered in scotch tape around that area this time. One of them wouldn't fire up for me. I'll try the others at a later date:)

They have a known battery post issue on these too... On the ones that won't fire, try prying the batt post out a tiny bit...
