So, I continue to have a love/hate relationship with the CE3s. When they're working properly I absolutely love them, because of the amount of vapor and flavor they produce, but I'm still having issues getting them to work reliably, hence, hate.

I tried dry burning the coil on one, and it seemed to be really rocking in terms of vapor and flavor after that except I would get these devastating dry/burning throat hits or a sharp stinging after-throat-hit. Did I overdo the dry burn? What's going on in there that's causing this behavior? It would seem the coil is getting a good amount of juice based on the volume of vapor and flavor on the initial draw, but then what would be causing the sharp, cough-inducing throat hits?

I've had that happen too. What I do is take the ce3 off the battery. While the ce3 is still upright I put the pad of my finger on the bottom threads to cover them tightly and then take a puff on the ce3. You should see an air bubble rise to the top of the juice in the tube. After that put it back on and vape as normal.

It's funny; I tried nearly that same thing, but I didn't seal it off tightly; I was still letting some air through. I'll give this a go and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!

Alright; first impressions on that trick. It works! But on one of the 2 that are behaving that way it seems to be pretty temporary; only seems to work properly for a few drags before I need to repat that process. Has that been your experience as well? How about mixing in some "dry pulls" on a manual battery?

No normally it'll work fine after that. Yeah you could try hooking it up to a manual battery and try it that way. I tried vaping through it once and it just never stopped with the acrid lung burning vape. I think what we might be describing are dry hits but I'm not for sure. I'm sure one of the veteran vapers will pipe up with an answer and a solution.

At any rate; this little tip may have revolutionized my CE3 experience, because aside from the brutal throat issue I've occasionally had issues with lakcluster performance from these CE3s (that was the source of this thread), and this really helps with that as well. It seems like sometimes you just need to pull some juice into the atty like that to prime things and get it all working smoothly. Thanks a million!
