I never experienced the famous leaking problem, until very recently. Being a detail oriented person, I investigated very carefully and found the outer barrel of my "leaker" had many, many stress cracks in it from manufacturing. Some of those cracks appeared to go completely through both the inner and outer walls of the CE3. As an experiment, I replaced that outer barrel with another one that wasn't cracked, and I had no leaks. I suspect that during manufacturing a machine had the tension set too high and resulted in many cracked barrels and many leakers as a result.

Nice detective work, good job! :thumb:

And that would make some very logical sense. I can see how I would have gotten two bad batches if that were the case. Now I just gotta keep my hand away from the order button to see if that could have been the culprit!

Must...remain...in...control.............must not...ahhhhhhhhh...stop...STOP!!! Phew, that was close!

I had some issues with my first batch, ordered 2 boxes and out of those, 4 were bad. One leaked all the juice out within minuets, one leaked slowly but would lose all juice overnight, and 2 just wouldn't give me a hit...just got really hot near the bat end.

Ordered three more boxes for labor day sale, opened 7 of them so far, and ALL 7 I opened have numerous microcracks around the metal part (battery end). Have tried 4, so far no leaks but I wrapped my labels around that end. One of them just never gave me a hit, and smelled burned.

And I almost always get slight leaks as well, usually if the juice get's down to the halfway mark...just a drop or so every now and then.

But when they work...it's HEAVEN

Sitting down, facing forward.
I don't mind an occassional little leak, and they do tend to cause a lot of condensation that ends up on the battery. Just a quick wipe with a tissue keeps things clean. I don't like them when they really leak though, I'm cheap and hate wasting the liquid on my desktop, although I have used a syringe to suck it up when it has happened. :)
