Hello!
I bought a 5 pack of the new ce4 spring loaded clearos - 1st one was amazing no leaking and no having to clean out the battery every 3 vapes...but the other 4 not so much...got in my ave order of juices (been excited about finally trying boba's bounty), super stoked, filled each of the other 4 in the pack (not overfilled) and let 'em sit for 15 minutes (which was hard...lol). Every single one I went to take a vape off of sent a red hot chemical taste of nastiness into my lungs. Took a lot to get the flavor out of my mouth - thought maybe the juices needed to steep, but I tried some in another clearo I had and it's definitely NOT the juice (which is freaking fantastic...anyways...).
Is this normal? Does it go away? I don't want to waste good juice, but I'm having problems figuring out how to actually vape the thing without it tasting like burning (with the ce4 with spring) or leaking out crazy time with the other ce4's I use.

Hi Newyorkifornian, Any new clearo, I rinse thoroughly with hot water and let dry - or pat dry it and fill it up. This often gets rid of any nasty residues left in the clearo from the manufacturing process. It's quite usual to have a chemically taste for the first few hits if you don't do this. You might want to try firing it and vaping it, but blow the vape straight out - for a few hits.

Sounds like it might be time for a clearo upgrade too - I use the CE5 (which is almost the same as the CE4 but with replaceable heads) with no issues, but I know some don't like them. A great cheap clearo is the EVOD if you are interested in trying something different. I've had no leaking issues, great vapor and flavor and it's as easy to fill as the CE4.

Hmmm I tried just vaping it out without inhaling, but that's taking a long time hah. If I remove the juice could I still do the hot water/airdry thing or will that mess up the clearo now that it's had juice seeped into the wick? I spent a little more than $20 on the 5 pack and don't want to kill any off that could be saved.

I'm still newish to vaping (couple months now) and went with the ce4 because I don't know if wicking it yourself was hard/irritating/messes up more because I'm wicking it and don't know what I'm doing yet/etc. Is it just an unscrew and pop it in type of thing with the rebuildables like the ce5 or is it more in depth of a procedure? (ie: do you soak the wick and piece in hot water, air dry it out, singe the ends, clip it in a certain shape, make sure you insert it exactly or the whole thing messes up and you have to start the process again?).

I went through 4 of the CE4s in under a week... 3 of them being brand new with that awful burnt flavor. I never could get rid of it. I'm still new as well but with the feedback I got from this forum and from the local stores around me, I've gathered that the CE4s are old... the local stores no longer even sell them because of all of the trouble they've had with them (as a matter of fact, they asked where I got them because no one carries them anymore, except online of course). Same goes for the CE5s. They are discontinuing them because of the inconsistencies and problems they are causing customers. I went from the CE4s to the Kanger T3 but the Kanger didn't give me as much flavor as the CE4 but the Kanger didn't leak all over or give me a burnt flavor. I tried cleaning the CE4s every which way suggested with no luck at all.
I have never tried re-wicking them myself though. I've heard the Kanger T3 is better if you re-wick it with cotton wicks. I have also never tried the CE5 but heard good things about them. I went in to buy one and that's when they told me about them discontinuing them. They look easy enough to work with

I've run into that. What seems to help is to rinse new attys or head before I use them. When I remember and am not in a hurry. LOL I'm guessing that stuff gets on them in the MFG process. Probably oils and cleaning types of things. So now I treat them like fruit. Wash them because you never know what has gotten on them in the trip to the store. For now you could take the ones with problems and soak them in alcohol to remove stuff and the probably gunked up juice then rinse thoroughly. I've found electronic jewelry cleaner do a good job of washing attys. But if you don't have one running it under hot tap water will probably do. One other possible cause could be that the juice is caustic. Make sure the tank is not frosty when you rinse it if it is then you may be vaping some plastic. I once made some DIY Rootbeer and it was awful. I found out it had turned the tip of the CE into goo and frosted the tank so I'm guessing I was vaping plastic. In that case I had to toss the damn thing. One reason I like glass tanks.

i have purchased a ce4 long wick 5 pack last week, the sales person needed to open several different boxes to get 5 different colors for me, well when i went to open the last one to fill with flavor i detected a chemical smell, vaguely smelling like the residue from cutting or tapping fluid, obviously this ce4 was assembled without all the machined components being thouroughly washed. little dissapointe as i might be vaping tapping fliud residue in my other ce4. i wont bother trying to pinpoint the actual maker of the ce4 or name the store who carry little responsibility for these products. all my ce4's were in individually sealed bags. i would suggest a good cleaning procedure with each ce4 prior to use.
