Not only did I never think I could quit, but I certainly never thought it could be this easy! I am so thrilled! I was especially glad I'd quit when I had to chase my escapee dog down the other day...I'm not sure I could've caught up to her otherwise. My breathing has improved tremendously. No more stinky clothes, stinky breath, stinky hair, stinky ashtrays...and no more stinky loss of so much money! Hugely important to me because I am VERY low-income.
My mother died of lung cancer in December 2009...she quit when she went into the hospital and was so proud of herself. Sadly, it was much too late to make a difference. And I'm well aware that 19 years of smoking may have still planted the cancer seeds in me, too, but I at least have a fighting chance now. My mom would be so happy and so proud of me.
Thanks to everyone here for answering questions and offering advice. I never would've learned so much otherwise.
