Hhehe, let me try to remember some of my material science. Metals tend to have either a BCC or a FCC unit cell structure. This lends itself to be a good conductor of both heat and electricity. Ceramics have a much more complex unit cell structure that prohibits the free movement of electrons. This causes ceramics to be a poor conductor of heat and current. However, it also means that ceramics, once heated, will retain its heat for a longer period of time than a metal will.

compared to metals, ceramic holds heat very well. However it takes longer to heat as it is actualy considered to be in insulator (makes it difficult for current to pss through its unit cell). You might not get any current to pass through your coil due to a very high resistance in your circuit. Once you have it heated, it should retain its heat longer than metal. However, asuming you can get current to pass through it, it will take a while to heat up. This just translates to a higher draw on your battery.

I do not think ceramics would be a good choice for this application.

That being said, perhaps there is some benifit to the vaping experience that i do not see when using a ceramic coil. There is only one way to find out. Just be prepared for come difficulties in getting your circuit to work.

I want to try with porous ceramic rod as wick to absorb the juice from a juice container, or surrounded of silica fibers to add the juice.
