I'm moving up to RBA's and RDA's on a mechanical mod... they're still in the mail, but don't have it yet. I picked up an RSST, but I'm wondering if the tank's window will be affected by certain juices? I've heard of cinnamon, watermelon, and menthol flavours potentially fogging or even cracking windows, and I've experienced fogging in all of my clearomizers I've been using on my T3 tanks.

Is this something I should still be concerned about with RBA's? And if so, what type of windows should I look for? I know Pyrex and glass should be immune. But what about acrylic (Plexiglas) and polycarbonate windows? Or does this only happen with these crappy small e-cig tanks that I'm used to?

some flavors have an acidic "ester" group. this ester will react with some plastics mainly BPA. once you see the etching or cracking occurring you should discard it along with any parts or fluid that are in it or on it unless they are metal or glass. metal and borosilicate glass (pyrex is a proprietary type of borosilicate) are your best bet if your favorite flavors are reacting with your vape gear.

wash everything you save very very well or boil it. when in doubt, its not worth the risk. throw it away

The RSST uses a polycarbonate plastic tank which is succeptible to volatile flavors like cinnamon & citrus flavors. Using these types of flavors will crack or melt the plastic and render the entire device inoperable. A current and growing list of these flavors can be found in the below link:

Look for an RBA which has a pyrex glass tank. The AGA-T2 is an affordable option. AGA-T2 RBA

Normally the tanks should not crack unless really cheaply made and you drop it. Leakage in some tanks are due to dropping or unlucky shipment handling.

The only way I see 'liquid" actually cracking the tank is if the liquid gets too hot. (ex. Running a .2 ohm coil on a 3.7 volt battery, and even then you would probably melt your battery before your liquid.)

Which is why sub-ohming is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Just my two cents.

You obviously have not come across any volatile flavors yet to crack your tanks. Your above comments are wrong. Read the article in the first link of my post above, the danger of cracked tanks is very real.

I agree that sub ohm vaping IS dangerous and should only be undertaken after very thorough research.

^let me know if you find something for unicorn blood. Even dripping, it sucks after the first hit. Only thing I've found to work with it is a non-punched SR ikenvape cartomizer. My RDA doesn't even work well with it. It's a coil and wick killer.

If you're thinking of the aga, get an agi instead. RBA/RDA. It's just as hard to work with as an aga.

Very informative Bad, thanks. Its not that I never came across volatile flavors, its just that i have always used pyrex glass and never really noticed what I was using, so I never bothered to look into it. I should be careful about what I say with my inexperience. Obviously still have a lot to learn :toast:
