I chain smoked analogs (100's) a lot of times and went through 2 to 2 1/2 packs a day. When new at this I found a thread that told you how to calculate how much nic you got from smoking analogs daily, so you would know how to match that much in e-liquid (though you don't get as much nic in e-liquid from vaping?). I started out on 16mg & 18mg nic strengths and that just wasn't cutting it to keep me from getting irritated. So now I'm on 24mg strength and it's much better at doing the trick.

I chain vape at the computer also changing out PT's when the attys run hot. Another post said about 3ml of juice a day was about average. I seemed to be doing that or under with the 5ml sample bottles I was using of lower strength. To cut down on how often/much I was having to fill my 510 carts I used the straw mod which has worked great, but I will be trying the cut down of a needle instead of a straw later. With that I don't have to top off the cartridge very often at all compared to before.

When I have time I'll put 3ml of the 24mg into a bottle and see if I am staying at 3ml a day. My goal is to go down in mg as soon as I can stop using analogs when hand feeding, mowing, doing dishes, etc. Unlike another poster I don't care to start using more nic than I did in analogs.

To calculate intake/use from info I've found if its right:
Smoking a cigarette yields only 0.5-2 mg of nicotine
That makes smoking a pack (20 cigs) being 40mg (20x2mg)
2 packs a day made my intake 80mg a day (2x40mg)
1ml of juice has whatever mg of juice you bought in it.
24mg juice x 3ml a day=72mg a day...but it's said vaping you don't get as many mg due to it's process--guess it averages out to what is burned away when not puffing on a analog.
With that in mind if I go over using 3ml, then I'll throw in some lower mg juice or 0 mg juice.--edit spelling

I chain vape when sitting at computer and watching TV. I use my Wall Wart mod then.

The other times is when I'm playing cards and when I running around in my car. Right now I use my Nicostick for both these, but I'm hoping to have a setup soon that will be powered through the car charger.

What ever way I do it, I can vape pretty constant as long as I keep the atty wet.

I hate vaping with my auto batteries now but do just to use every once in a while. The reason I dislike them so much is because I can't chain vape.

I have a feeling I'm not alone here, just wanted to see some other peoples thoughts. I have a tendency, when stationary, whether at the computer or reading a book to continually smoke the e-cig. Unlike analog cigarettes which would naturally burn down and get snuffed, I can puff on my e-cig for hours. I've started counting my puffs and trying to limit them to the same as a cigarette, but I usually loose track.

just so you know I continually smoked analogs while sitting at the computer or doing anything boring

that's actually when I smoked the most....

I got two batteries in when I ordered my kit. One of the two was faulty. It took 9 days to get my kit in from the time I ordered it, leaving about 6 days for me to get my replacement battery in.

I vape until my battery dies. Basically chain vaping with only the cooling time of the atomizer to keep me off it. When my battery dies, I charge it. That's how much of a limit I put on myself with these things.

Even with all that vaping, my lungs don't hurt. They're actually improving. I can breathe deeper, my sinuses are finally clearing up (I thought I would need surgery, who'dve thought it was just smoking) I sleep better, and I dream. I can remember my dreams even. I know nicotene makes you have weird dreams.. but I think it's more along the lines that I'm actually able to breathe better, and with that I get to sleep better. Until scientific evidence can prove that these things are more harmful than anyone with a rational mind would think... I'm still doing better than when I was smoking analogs.

I've only been "smoking" my Joye 510 for ONE WEEK! A full week without an analog cigarette. Looks like im done with Phillip Morris for good now!

I do find my self chain vaping more then I ever smoked. I think its to fight the urge to smoke an analog more then anything else.

I just ordered some RY4 18 and RY4 0 nic. I figured Im going to cut it down to RY4 9 and less to limit the Nic.

Okay, your post has gotten me to think seriously about my chain vaping.

Does anybody know approximately how much liquid fits in a refilled cartomizer? I use the KR808D-1 and refill the carts with 15-18 drops of liquid. I read somewhere on this forum that a refilled cart is equivalent to about 5-7 cigarettes?

Anyway, I smoked roughly one pack of cigarettes a day for more than 30 years (give or take periods of abstinence-LOL). That would be roughly 20 mgs a day, right?

Since quitting analogs I have been chain vaping. I am using 2 18 mg carts and 1 24 mg cart a day. At 1 ml each, that would come to 60 mg a day!! Can that be right?

Do you think 18 drops = 1 ml of liquid? A 10 ml bottle seems to last longer than that.

Now, I am worried...

I got my 510 four days ago. I have only put it down when entering someplace that I think might have an issue with it. Stores, etc.

I'm vaping 11mg Velvet Vapor juice, menthol, with the occasional drop of 24mg Marl from MadVapes.
I haven't gotten the nicotine OD symptoms that i used to get with the nico-gum (I forget you're not supposed to chew it like regular gum...)
I AM a little worried about my eventual juice costs... That, and constant use CAN'T be good for the atty... And, if i keep this up, I will have charged the batteries the 200-300 times they can live through, within the next month...

Gawd, I love this thing... NO analogues since the first battery was done charging.

apart from sitting at my computer and using my 510 PT i really only ever vape when i'm in a situation where a cigarette would have been used. Bonfires with my friends, before and after work, driving etc. It's not so much the Nic fix that i'm looking for anymore. My best friend and i started smoking around the same time and it brought us closer, i guess you could say. He's away at basic so i'm left pretty much alone now so i vape in memory of him because each time i do it feels like i'm sitting right next to him. He's not dead but i don't know when the next time i'll see him is so its just been rough lately. What a time to try and quit analogs >.<

I was a pack a day analog smoker for 40+ years, but only chain smoked when drinking. Now approaching 2 years on e-cig only, I have gone from 1ml/day to 3.

I think the ability to vape anywhere has a lot to do with it, but another factor is how darn tasty some of the flavors are (especially since discovering MsT's Bananas Foster!!!).

It is no longer about "smoking"...now it is all about zero calorie desserts all day long!

personally i dont want to be off nicotine, i mean in search of a healthier life i had given up all but cigarettes and then i did that too, been vaping for a while and i havent lowered the nicotine or vaped less or anything (i vape constantly while at the computer) i mean i dont really find a need to anymore, though i did think i would wean myself off it at one point but i can run now, i feel healthy as i ever have and can do baisically anything i want to now (
and my lungs dont hurt while doing it) i find no need for myself to wean myself down or anyhting, but maybe thats just me

I've started counting my puffs and trying to limit them to the same as a cigarette, but I usually loose track.

I have been vaping for two weeks now and experimenting with the number of puffs and time between vapes. I was never a hard core smoker but I have always liked the buzz. This is the reason I like vaping...buzzing without the tars and chemicals. I also know that you can get too much of a good thing, possibly overdose, etc. The first sign I am vaping too much is I tend to get jittery. Through experimenting here is what I have come up with to date. 3 to 4 healthy drags per session does the trick without the jitters. And that's it for a another few hours. In this way I preserve the buzz each time and get no jitters. I usually have my 'sessions' five or six times a day. Definitely after meals and at breaks at work, and during my favorite television programs. But you really need to be disciplined. The true enjoyment of any pleasure is always a discipline. Moderation, that nasty word, is the key to preserving the pleasures of any activity we enjoy. Also puffing 25-30 good draws a day in 6 or 7 sessions lengthens the time the cart lasts and costs less in the long run.

Keep in mind though that I was never a hard core smoker so I don't have years of chain smoking or two pack-a-day habit to deal with. I am just offering my view on using vapes as a pleasure.

When we smoked analogs we usually smoked the entire cigarette because it was lit and it was there and prolly long after we got our nicotine fix. With vapes we don't need to smoke as long because we get our fix in a few puffs and can quit right then. The ancient Chinese had a saying: limitation means stopping as soon as one is pleased. It is good to keep this in mind.
