So I'm asking here specifically because I know this can't be an ingredient issue, I know it isn't a VG vs PG issue (I have a sensitivity to PG in which 2 puffs of even a VG liquid with PG flavoring gives me an instant sore throat), so I'm assuming this is a What-Happens-When-Sydlie-Chain-Vapes issue & am curious as to if this happens to anyone else.

Basically, If I vape like normal, just puff when I have the craving, probably the equivalent to a couple analogs a night, I'm fine. But if I have a night like I did last night, where I'm watching TV and puffing away like the Caterpillar in Wonderland for an hour or so, I wake up wheezing with lungs that feel like I've just run 2 miles- kind of that asthmatic, wet lung feeling. After I'm up for a bit, I cough it out, I'd say the worst of it is over in 15-20 minutes. This has happened on every flavor I've chained, so it's not a flavor allergy, I didn't have this problem with cigarettes (I did get a sore throat if I smoked too much, but not this hacking cough.) I enjoy vaping so much, and if I have to stop, I'll end up going back to the analogs eventually. Should I up my nicotine & hope I won't chain vape on a higher level? Maybe thinning my juice a little more?

If any of this makes a difference, I have a KGO and have been using Bud Sapphires. I live in New Orleans, the most humid place possible, which might factor in, too. Thanks for any worldly knowledge in advance & if this is a really bad place for this, I won't be offended if it needs to be moved or is deleted for me, I just noticed in similar threads the "final answer" seemed to be changing the VG/PG ratio or something questioning the ingredients of the juice being vaped-- we here all know that can't be an issue, so I thought I could escape that whole train of thought.

Hi Sydlie, I haven't had that problem before but I do sometimes notice if I vape a lot and don't exercise that I do feel a bit of something in my lungs. There's no doubt that the best thing to inhale is pure, clean air so it is best to keep that in mind and try not to overdo it! I also noticed that you are only in your 6th week of making the switch to vaping. If you smoked for a long time, it's quite likely that your lungs are still cleaning themselves out. Sometimes people experience quite a bit of detox as the lungs clean themselves including a bit of mucus as things loosen up so this could be a factor. If you think a higher nicotine level would help, that might be worth a try. But, of course, if your symptoms continue or get worse or worry you at all, I would definitely encourage you to see your doctor.

@ctourtelot: That sounds exactly what I experienced. It's only happened 2-3 times, always after chain vaping in the hour or so before bed & chances are I'm not hydrating because who wants to be getting up to pee every 20 minutes??? Thank you!

@Annette: I don't think it has anything to do with quitting, I wasn't a heavy smoker & usually didn't smoke on the weekends (to avoid hearing my husband complain.) I'm planning to order samplers of the new flavors, which will be a higher nic level than I use, so that'll be a good test run. Part of the problem might be that I'm a deep inhaler, I like the "chest hit" and that's almost negated with vaping- though the 2 times I've tried a puff or 2 of a cigarette since switching, that "chest hit" I crave has been quite unpleasant!

Sydlie, I'm pretty sure you read about all the breathing issues I've been having and while all of it is definetly NOT form vaping, I've discovered lately that if I vape a 50/50 blend, my breathing gets even a little better. I use to not be able to vape any PG...butif I drink at least 64 ozs. of water and eat lots of things high in potassium (sp?) it has helped me be able to handle the PG. I ordered some 80pg/20vg Kona for a friend's birthday and kept one of the bottles to mix with some 80vg/20pg Annette had made special for me awhile ago...so it made 50/50 and I have been vaping just that for awhile. I also chain vape all the time...that's why I order 5 mg. :)

I cleaned the windows in my SUV recently, because they were starting to look all "fogged" and realized this was from all the VG I vape. Started thinking if it coats my windows like that, is it coating my lungs too? So I am going to switch completely to the 50/50 and go from there....

PLEASE do not think I am bashing the 100% VG, beacuse I definetly am not!!!! If it wasn't for the 100% VG and Annette's wonderful flavors and support  , I would not be where I am right now...almost 2 years analog free!!!! :) I just think for some people, especially if they have had or have other breathing issues, the 100% VG is not a good thing...for others I am sure it is just fine and they will do wonderful with it. Everyone is so different and we all just have to find what works best for each of us.

Sydlie, I just had another idea...since you can't tolerate the PG right now, maybe you could order a bottle of 100% VG (not thinned), low nic, with XXX flavor and then dilute it with some distilled water till it's still flavorful, but not really 100% VG anymore...make any sense? Might be worth a try anyways.....:)
