If you score more mech Woodvil's and are looking for 22mm attys, I highly recommend a manta (if you can get one). It's 22mm, but the chamber is about 15mm. I'm running a single standard 26g coil at an ohm in a manta. The airflow closed off to about twice the chalice wide open. The flavor rocks. Derringers won't be that great IMO unless built to .5 or below (as with anything ymmv, some people love derringers at an ohm but they're typically using twisted wire)

The only reason I am considering 22mm atty's at all is because getting more Nuppin's is not likely to happen. Way back when I was on the second list, then third list for authentic black Derringer's from CH, but finally gave up on the ins and outs of praxis delays... and was only on the list for them in the first place because of the hype (that is speculative and an individual thing). I know nothing about the Manta, but will look into them, thanks for the idea. BTW, some of my KISS Nuppin' and Chalice builds are twisted builds.

You can still get Nuppin's, I've got 3 v3's and a v1 along with stainless, patina'd and black AFC's now and started just before Memorial Day. Bad new is I'm now going to need a few more REO's set them on. :)
When did pdib make a third batch?

Built my chalice yesterday, my standard .75, 2mm micro coil using R41, it was not love at first vape, I'm not giving up yet but my IGO-s with the same build vapes better, that alone is a disappointment. It really should be right up my ally. I'll keep vaping on my IGO till I'm ready to revisit. It sits for now with the occasional toot and I'm reminded, meh

That is not so unless you score a used/preowned one in the classifieds or elsewhere. There has not been a third run of Nuppin's, nor a V3 version... just V1's and V2's.

When did pdib make a third batch?

No third run was planned, and I doubt that has changed as he has moved on to a new project. All pdib has had in stock since the V2 run sold out back on April 24th is AFC sleeves, and most of them left were torched copper (there were no black left at all). All per pdib himself via several phone calls between us in April, May and June.

I got the last complete Nuppin' he let go as far as I know the first week of May, a personal V1 he traded to me.

Yes, no new ones, but for now they are popping up in the classifieds fairly regularly. I'm pretty sure new ones were gone before I new that they existed. As quick as they seem to go I don't think it will be long before they get hard to find, for now people are still figuring out who likes them and who doesn't.

Okay, I'm done with this. Building coils for the deck size isn't a problem. Catching the wires is. Real shame because when the stars (wires and posts) align it gives a nice vape.

Maybe I'm just frustrated because my latest build flattened the springs in my Woody but I'd be fuming if I'd paid full boat for the pleasure. Meter showed it was okay, there were no wires touching anything they shouldn't but when I wicked I could've moved moved the coil or something because there's so little room - like a hair's breadth it seems - between the posts and the edge of the deck.

Perhaps this is just a quirk of the clone. Do the posts on the authentic nearly kiss the edge of the deck too?

I have never shorted out any of my Chalice atty's. Yes, the posts on the authentic Chalice III's are very close to the deck edge. Build error is the most common cause of shorting any atty out, so checking the atty after it's coiled, wicked AND with the cap installed before mounting the atty on a mod should always be done.

I've had to learn to stay away from the classifieds, would have twice the number of Reos I already have if I hadn't. Would rather support Rob and buy them from him.

Good point on preowned Nuppin's though since there will be no more new ones. I'd sure like to get 2 more black Nuppin' V2's..... hint

You can also post a "wanted" ad in the classys. Could post you want Nuppins - then you save yourself from perusing the classies every day and potentially landing twice the REOs :)

In theory a great idea Sloth. I've tried that before and it never lead to any buys. Mostly just folks fishing to find out what the interest might be that really didn't want to sell at all, or that wanted X times more than what they had cost or was worth even to me. Last time was for a custom exhibition grade wood bf mod from Europe offered to me for a considerable amount over it's original cost, and when I offered to buy the fisherman backed out. I spent the money instead on a bunch of new Reos, so it was a win for Rob and me.

I may give it a spin for a couple of black Nuppin' V2s though... thanks.

Also, while I'm at it, I never figured out where the best position would be for the max air flow - anyone know which hole needs to be positioned where?

This is a photo of my build, I'm no expert, but I advise taking the time to read the whole thread, I learned a lot. The link below will take you to the post and a photo. If you keep going from there, airflow position has been discussed.

A known issue with some of the clones. The problem lies with the center pin at the bottom end of the 510 connection.

I wasn't aware. Thanks, Mathee. Do you know if the posts are abnormally close to the sides of the deck in the aithentics?

Really doesn't matter much - the three holes all feed together internally to the ONE hole that blows air right on your coil. And that positioning is automatic. The cap, when screwed on, stops with the hole facing the coil.
That's one of the primary nifty features of the Chalice.

If you can, I'd position that one internal airhole KIND of "away" or "up" from your vape position. This isn't for airflow purposes, it is so that when you tilt to vape, you'll be less likely to flow some juice up into that one internal airhole. Juice CAN get in there - you'll get gurgling...

Also, while I'm at it, I never figured out where the best position would be for the max air flow - anyone know which hole needs to be positioned where?
