So the final price is equal to the price of a new REO Grand.....Yikes. Not saying its not worth it just saying yikes.

That's what I was contemplating! Writing a letter to Santa and trying to decide between a Chalice 3 in February or LP TRA Grand in December???/ Hmmmmm. decisions, decisions! I'm thinking the latter. :)

Are those the post screws that come with it?

yes, they are the original screws, the post screws are different than any atty I've seen, there very coarse threaded, more like a wood screw than a fine thread and the screw forces itself between the wire and the inner post, grabbing the wire securely. only drawback is anything over 28ga is a problem with the stock wire holes in the posts... I drilled my post holes out a bit so I can now do MM and 26ga in the modded one. at first I didn't like the screw design but now I've come to really like it. you just put the coil in then insert each screw and push it in like a pin, it holds everything in place and you then just snug it up. that's why the screws sometimes look like there not straight because there really not threading into a straight bore there screwing into between the wire and the bore. biggest drawback is you can't just loosen the screws to insert a coil you have to remove them then reinstall when the coil is in place. makes it easier to loose one of these screws

AWESOME review and pictorial!!!
My coils are hiding in shame from yours, but my VAPE is awesome - I am thrilled with the C-III.
2nd build WAY better than the first. 3rd Wick of 2nd build, well....I don't really know if it can get any better.
:D

I've got chalice II's and III's and man these things are spectacular.

A testament to Rob and the REO design.

Just built a coil compliments of FB and his great pics but there was one minor issue....the end of the wire was not flush to the post and just made a very slight contact with the cap. Yep I dropped my first spring. I am sure glad the REO has a built in safety feature. Replaced the spring and back vapin in minutes.

I had to get a magnifying glass to see the end of the wire so be careful there is not much room in there.

Thanks Rob for building a safety feature into the REO for people like me.

Yeah I've benn worried about that and have been putting the cap on for a final ohm check. I was also thinking that I'll try to wrap it farther around next time so the wire nub faces forward on the deck and not out to the side

Yea I am going to try that as well. I thought I was being very careful and trimmed the wire what I thought was flush with the post but it looks like I cut it at a slight angle and the very tip made contact. Oh well it was a good lesson and nothing hurt except my pride...I hate screwing up

Sorry you had the same issues as I but, at the same time kind of glad it wasn't only me. Yep, my first short as well and a great reminder for everyone to be careful out there. The inner sleeve makes for a tighter build than one may think! :?:

This thing has, like, the smallest chamber ever. It's likely a big part of its magic, but man does it make things kinda tight in there. I caught what would have been a spring squasher by doing one last resistance check after fully assembling (cap et al). Sure glad I did, but nice to know all I would have been out was 1 spring and some pride.

I watched a vid (forget who..the Scotland guy maybe?) and instead of cutting the wire, he just twisted it off. Maybe that's the way to go? Not sure

ETA- Chalice II has landed!!!!!!! Beautiful finish, well built and smaller than I thought (that's what she said hehehehehe) Can't wait to try my first Z coil and test this puppy out but will have to be later today :(

Mark has posted instructions on his website for all those who missed out in the last run on how to get your name in the hat for a Chalice III in the run planned for February/March. If I read it right, all those that sign up will receive further instructions that will land you a unit in the up coming release. I've already signed up and look forward to getting ones of these coveted atomizers. :)

It speaks volumes about Mark and his team going through this extra effort to satisfy those people who missed out. Way to go Mark and your entire team!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. I scratched my head a bit before installing the first one as well but, after I figured out to leave one leg long and the other short I was able to fit a 2mm triple twisted 28 in between the posts. I have to say that the flavors are surely intense!

Actually the Z coil was pretty easy for me to set up EXCEPT...I'm obviously doing something wrong. I went for .70Ω and ended up with 1.3???? UGH...that's never happened to me before. Is wraps/ohms diff on a Z coil than normal?

Anyway, if anyone is slightly thinking about a Chalice, loves warmer vapes with flavor and a more controled vape flow versus that burst, lung hit of bigger atties...THIS THING IS AMAZEBALLS! I love the looks of it, it vapes like a stud and the flavor is awesome. I must say, I am not fond of the drip tip which sucks cuz it looks good. I just have issues with any metal drip tips.

So popped on a byLeo drip tip...HEAVEN. I'm so happy I snagged this and can't wait for the Chalice III! Now...gonna go play with these dang ohms!!!!!

Ok thanks! I read not to screw down the screws tight so maybe wrong info. Plus I need to get a dang small Phillips screw driver. But seriously, even at 1.3Ω I am blown away at the flavor and warm vape. This was the perfect, exact size chamber I was looking for.

Also, trying not to chain vape...but it's so good. Does the Chalice get warm to the touch for anyone when vaping? Just wanna make sure that I'm not going nuts.
