My honest opinion is it's not worth it. If you are happy with the RM2 then try and get a Cyclone... same if not better flavour than the RM2 and looks much better.
Looks are rather subjective, aren't they? What isn't subjective is the materials they're made of. ;)

The best Cyclones for BF are the 2013 ones with dished deck, either the late production ones with the lower hole in center post or ones modfied for BF by Chowederhead, with an even lower hole. Those drain the best. For 2014, VA abandoned the dished deck. :mad:

I eventually gave up on the Chalice III and sold it... the chap who bought it is very happy with it but I just never got a decent vape from it ever.
Interesting. What's your vaping style? Are you a lung-hitter who likes an airy draw? If so, I can fully understand why it doesn't work for you.

For me, the Chalice III is what I was hoping the the Cyclone AFC would be. I love my Cyclones, but they all have standard caps on them, with the air hole only opened a wee bit, to maybe 1.4 or 1.5 mm. I got an AFC cap a while back and didn't care for it at all. In order to keep the same proportions as the standard cap, VA made it taller, which means a lot more chamber volume inside, and that results in greatly decreased flavor. The Chalice III provides AFC in a range that suits my MTL style while keeping the chamber tiny, and the smaller the chamber, the better the flavor.

Yip looks are very subjective... it's what attracted me to the Chalice in the first place... it's stunning!

I'm a mouth to lung vaper... My favourite atty is the 2103 Cyclone and like you never really took to the Cyclops (Cyclone AFC). I vape predominantly menthol juices and rayon is my wick of choice...

I tried the Chalice III more than a few times with different configs and just couldn't get it to work for me... my mate who bought it off me loves it and he uses ugly coils with ReadyXwick and is as happy as Larry with it.

Both of my Cyclones are 2013, both have low enough bf holes, but they are not the same so I assume one has been modded by Tom.

Help guys...it's been awhile since I broke out a chalice and once again cannot get it dialed in.{newer version from Rob}
Remind me..can it handle a 1 ohm coil? I am getting a bit gurgly, LOTS of heat, none to nearly no vapor. I believe the AFC is positioned correctly.

A pic of your build would help alot.

The resistance is OK, but there could be something else hinky with your build...
Sounds like either too much or not enough liquid getting wicked?

For the gurgly, you may have gotten liquid in the air channels - it does happen. One way to clear it is to take the cap off and blow it out - tricky, but doable...

I think my best move at this point would be to never, ever open this thread again. It's happened to me time and time again, and it's happening again. This little thought in my head that I really want something, and I'm able to stave off the urge for a while, but eventually I rationalize a purchase. Problem with this is that I will HAVE to combine a Chalice with another new Reo Grand.

Does the top screw on sort of like the way an RM2 cap screws on instead of a push-on with o-rings? I love the threaded cap on the RM2 and cannot stand yanking a cap off, thinking I'm going to rip the 510 connector out of my mod or ruin the threads. Please tell me the Chalice doesn't have a threaded cap, then these voices in my head will stop.

The voices in my head are getting louder. Let's see...a new Reo, a Chalice, a couple of new batteries, button cover, assorted accessories, shipping and handling.......

A screw on top and the fact that it's not a wide-open MTL draw are really making the voices louder. So, who want's to buy my Odin BF, used about 3 times?
