Well in my opinion that totally depends on the difference in the flavors you are switching from and to. I personally use 3 tanks one for Tobacco, one for Deserts and another for Fruit Flavors so switching between similar flavors is not a concern as a few pulls and the new flavor has saturated the coil. I do on occasion wash out the tank with Hot Tap water but some will say it is not necessary. If you use a Menthol that In My Opinion requires a good cleaning of tank and a new coil or cotton if you use an RBA. Do what works for you!

Thank you very much, sir. I'm switching from some sweet coffee flavor to an energy drink flavor. Would I then need to clean the tank and change coil (btw my coil is pretty new, don't know if that makes a difference)?
You should be fine just to empty your tank and fill with what you want. Once you get the hang of your device you'll know when to clean and change coils. Welcome to ECF! :)

I do not change coils until they need changing, as far as mixing flavors, the new one will take over.

I must disagree with this statement because I used some Black and Mild from Vape Nation in my dedicated Tobacco Tank that was so disgusting at first all I did was a water wash out. Still tasted that crappy taste after only a few pulls and I disassembled and washed out the tank multiple times before a new coil. Like I said similar flavors there is no need but some will require a good cleaning.

Stick with the same family of flavors in each tank and it's less of an issue.

Going from Mango Smoothie to Black tobacco then Cherry Menthol is not recommended.

If you have an AIO ... it might be worth pulling the atomizer head out and saving it for the next time you revert to another juice. With these particular heads (AIO/Cubis) I go from Caramel to Lemon Pie and back again. I even had a bit of Strawberry + Citrus going in there last week.

I agree - if you switch from/to compatible flavours by filling the tank with the new flavour over the old one, then you just get a gradual change over to the new flavour over the course of the first half a tank or so.

If you use strong flavours (like Menthol), or flavours that can taste rank when mixed with certain others (certain custards IME) then I suggest doing as djsvapour said and using a new coil for your new flavour, washing out the tank and keeping that coil for the next time you use that flavour.

So, in short - use different coil heads for different flavours, and wash your tank out in-between.

I tried doing the saving of the coils with my Nautilus Minis but found that not to work for me and switched to the 3 tank system with different flavor profiles. Just had way too many coils in tiny zip lock bags it started to look like I was dealing.

Yes, more tanks is the easy answer really.
Trouble is, we are talking AIO....
