Change positive end of battery?

I was given 4 xtar batteries, which are rewrapped vtc4s with a very large positive terminal. They are about 3mm longer than any other battery I have. I'm not sure they will fit in any of my mods. So I'm wondering how hard (or dangerous) it would be to replac the positive and then I would rewrap the battery. Any input?

Personally I wouldn't attempt it. Toxic chemicals, high voltages etc...it's making me twitch just thinking about it.

there is a thread here in this section somewhere where someone took the tops off and made them work, you'll have to search for it.

i noticed fasttech sell a variety of replacement positive connectors for batteries, flat, button top etc

So did I, which was why I thought they might be changeable, but I guess they go on top of the existing one.

Going to try to fix one battery today and will report how it goes.
