Changeling lock ring stuck!

For some odd reason, the reverse threaded lock ring is locked in the unlocked position. I tried heating it and cooling it to try to break the bond. I also tried PB blaster but the dang thing is stuck as stuck can be. I only unlocked by hand and didn't torque it but I can't break it free to save my life. I don't want to use a vice or pliers cause it will obviously scar the finish. Anyone else have an issue like this with any other mod? Any suggestions?

Solved my own problem. Putting it in the freezer didn't work. Freezing then lightly torching didn't work. Ended up hitting with PB catalyst and letting it soak for 30 minutes, then rinsed off in warm to hot water, then in the freezer for about 5 minutes. Et voila! Came right apart. Phew... I was getting nervous there for a while. Hopefully my explanation above helps anyone else who might have a similar issue with any other mod

When I lock/unlock it I turn it back a bit so there is always some play.

Taking apart the button has worked for me in the past.
