CCI Copper Mod stuck

HI all,

So I recently purchased the CCI copper mod and it was working great for about the first month until I started noticing the lock ring and bottom cap starting to get stuck. Today, after I pulled my battery out to give it a charge i screwed my bottom cap back on and it's now stuck. It doesn't budge at all and I afraid that I might strip the threading or somehow damage my mod if I try and use to much pressure.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to free up my bottom cap and lock ring? Additionally, if I can get this loose what are some good preventative steps to make sure this doesn't happen again?

The only thing I can think of is to wrap both parts in electrical tape or use rubber bands to protect the finish. Then use pliers to try and unstick the parts. You'll have to be gentle as copper is a soft metal.

When my copper mods get stuck I throw them in the freezer for a bit. They usually loosen right up.

when you get it unstuck you can try some Mineral-oil dabbed on a q-tip and lightly go over the ring and switch threads.

Thanks for the responses guys. So my buddy ended up going at my bottom cap and lock ring with a pair of pliers and a towel and ended up really screwing things up. Lesson learned, be patient and take it to a B&M if you can.
