Depends on how lazy I am and how different the flavors are. I do have a cleaning ritual that extends the life of my heads so nothing gets more than 6 mill vaped through it without being cleaned.

If you can vape till almost the last drop just shake out the little bit of juice that is left and refill with a different flavor. You can only tell the mix in the first few vapes.

Cartos are different you can taste it for a while.

And to answer the other question. I have 13 different tanks of one sort or another right now each with a different flavor, and 3 drippers with flavors, one dripper has the same flavor as one of my tanks.

depends .... I'm old so depends are important

now for the replace/not replace question .... if I think the flavors will "play well" together I'll just top off with the new flavor, sometimes you find a combination that really tastes good, however sometimes what sounds like a good idea ends up in a tank full of juice down the drain (vanilla cocoa mint + graham cracker = soap :nah:)

flavors I don't think will mix with anything get their own tank (licorice has it's own)

I don't keep a specific tank for every flavor. I think that's a bit excessive, although I have amassed enough different tanks to do it.
I just clean it out real good with hot water and clean and dry burn my coil (or replace it) and I'm good to go...

My problem is with my 510 drippers. Having trouble getting the old juice flavor out. I tried soaking overnight in everclear, blowing them out and running under hot water. Still have flavor remnant.

I only own 1 tank at the moment, so everything gets cleaned. I normally take apart my PT2 and rinse everything in hot tap water when changing flavors.

Eventually I will find a flavor or 2 (or more) that I really like and they will get their own tank. For now, this system is working.

Thank you for the advice. Using a PT2 as well and was wondering what the best way to clean and change flavors.

i have 4 protank II`s and when i change flavors i take the base off and remove the coil and run everything under hot water. i rebuild my own coils so i pop a newly built coil in when changing flavors. i do not break the tank down completely as i see no reason to do that.:toast:
Does hot water work for you? It doesn't help me to remove the old flavor, I still can feel it...

in a warehouse buried near Univille SD
kayfun lite+ (clone - as the real ones are always out of stock)
8 assorted Protanks (1, 2, and mini's)
12+ evods
12+ assorted vivi nova's, iClear16's, ce4 style clearo's (not in regular use - emergency vapocalypse backups)
AGA-T2+ and assorted RDA's

I'm sorry what was the question again?

as you can see I have gone overboard so I don't actually mix flavors

I do have a buddy that changes out heads when he changes flavors and washes out his tanks (he's cheap and only wants to have 2 tanks. besides he has me 6 blocks away and I have a better variety than the B&M store we have) He just drops the head in tiny bottle with some of that flavor eliquid to keep it from drying out - important to label the bottle though.

do you just add new flavors to the end of the last flavor you have in your tank or do you have different tanks for each flavor?

My answer is both ... I have a couple of tanks that are dedicated to one flavor, and I have a few that I constantly change juices in. Some flavors are easy to change into tank following a prior flavor, without ending up with a yucky, or strange flavor, and some flavors not so much ...

I have eight different tanks. I have never had luck just adding a new flavor into the same tank as an old flavor without washing and dry burning first. Others say they do that but for me it always results in the new flavor being contaminated with the old flavor and sometimes even the transition to the new flavor causes burning and can spoil the entire contents of the tank. For me washing a protank takes about five to ten minutes so I see no reason why I would want to risk an entire tank of juice by not making sure the tank is clean first.

I have different tanks for different flavors but I've only been working with about 5 different DIY flavors for a while. I'll put a different one in occasionally if I think they'll play well together, but if/when I try something totally new it gets a clean tank.

My main vape is a strong, caustic, tank cracking, coil eating blend of Mtbakers cinnamon roll, home made menthol and ECblends 5x Atomic Cinnamon Fireball, I am using protank 1 & 2 atomizers for this and I must clean the coils after every tank of face extremely short head life.

Being so aggressive, If I desired changing flavors I would have to get a brand new head unit as the above mix just flat out will not come out for anything less than a long soak in vodka followed by a rinse under the tap with scalding hot water. I would also have to thoroughly clean the rest of the unit so I would probably use a PT2.

My normal cleaning for tank and coils is pretty simple, I take everything apart and put the parts in a small ramekin, a coffee cup will do...

I then place the ramekin in the kitchen sink making sure I am using the side with the strainer basket and that it is in and run hot water into it for a couple of minutes. If it starts cold that is fine, If I have dishes to rinse, that is fine too.

Let sit for a while, then drain water off and let sit overnight to air dry.

I would like a different tank for each of my current flavors. I did buy a Joyetech 306 atomizer for testing my DIY and ready-made juices. I also mix drops for a new flavor and then try loading a tank with the same combo.

I only clean out a tank when they look gunky or I make a major flavor change.
The hardest thing for me to do while making my own e-liquid is to create a single flavor. I haven't done one yet.
