Just understand that he has to want to do it. I had set up my mother with a Vision Spinner setup with evods and TS3..I live right next door to her so I kept everything cleaned and filled for her ..all she had to do was keep her battery charged. It lasted about 2 weeks and she gave up. Im not bugging her but I still let her know that Im off the cigs.

The first month is hard even with the nic in the liquid you have to remember that your body is also detoxing all those other many many chemicals that are in cigs. I basically fell apart that first month but now I feel great. I think she was just having the effects I had and gave up.

I see her light one up and start hacking and its hard to believe that used to be me. At least with vaping I actually enjoy it and I don't have any kind of cough anymore.

I would just upgrade then give him your old gear. You can run through the paces with your stuff, make sure to get a couple menthol and minty green tasting juice, and a fresh tank or two. this will accomplish two things, getting your dad started at little or no cash out put, and if he doesn't take to vape, you didn't loose anything. Also it gives you a great reason to get the gear you want. Get that Provari for yourself, and pass yours on. Obsolete vape gear make great xmass presents. going to give some of my old gear as presents this year.
Waste not vape not, or something like that.

I do respect your opinion WarHawk, but after just going through a similar situation with my 84 year old father, I'll have to respectfully disagree. My father was an airline pilot for 40 years; I think he might understand some techie stuff sine it enveloped most of his life. However, even his eyes glazed over when I started explaining APV's. The most important thing is to get people off analogs, which ever way works best for them.

By the way, eGo's do have a regulated version: eGo Twist.
airline pilot...those guys are next level man
You don't become a pilot by not having skills! It's almost like a racecar driver, having to anticipate 4 moves ahead, and knowing what a vehicle can and cant do...plus have you seen the control and dials/gauges in an aircraft!!!)...only you DON'T get a do over if you make a mistake..plus have you seen the test/training for pilots!

And this right here class is why a plane flies down faster than it does up!

Right and ego twist is a "buck" type regulation...it will NEVER go above standard battery voltage...as in 4.2vdc full charge the regulation only lowers it...the kick is a buck/boost circuit which kicks battery volts WAY up then regulates it down again.

I'm not saying all older folks have a hard time with technology...but some do

My dad...for example...can't set his VCR and has a hard time even checking his email (even after I put an icon on his desktop)...but by GOD he can cook some of the best food blindfolded underwater with the lights off that would make you "slap yo mamma"

Maybe an evic easy control head and tube (which is constant regulated) and a 1.8Ω -2.2Ω head might be another thing to look at (literally its a plug and play setup)..plus it has USB bypass capability and the ability to charge without removing the battery. (I got a Totally Wicked Tornado RCS as my first rig....it's the EXACT same thing only it took 16650 batteries rather than an 18650)

I was 69yo, and had smoked for over 50 years when I got my first PV. So don't be quite so quick to sell old guys short.

IMO flavors are more important to a noob than what PV to get. If it doesn't taste good it doesn't matter what you put it in.
Most will want a tobacco flavor at first, thinking they want it to taste just like what they are smoking (can't be done). So get a "flavored" tobacco for a first flavor. (RY4 or 555 are popular choices) Many soon find that the last thing they want is a flavor that reminds them of smoking, so also get a fruit or candy flavor.

Nice option! I wasn't aware that the eVic had an easy head option. Obviously, I glaze over the eVic due to the techie nature of the regular head. Do you have any experience with how it performs of know anybody that does? I would really like to know if it holds up to experience/review scrutiny. If it does, my father might just be getting a new Christmas present. Thanks!
