Hi and welcome,
My nicotine is VG based and I buy PG and VG separately for mixing.
Recipe PG/VG ratios are flexible; you make it how you like.

Cheers
I

That is helpful though to know it won't massively affect the recipe. There are loads of recipes I want to try out but the ratios had put me off but I will tailor it to me. Looks like it will always be 50/50

@drumlegend - Recipes you find that people post...will tell you (3) things that are always necessary to make that recipe:

Flavorings in it (ie. Banana Cream, Strawberry Ripe)
Brands of each of the flavorings (ie. TFA, CAP, etc.)
The % to use of each flavoring

Beyond that, they may tell you specifics for their own batch they made...according to their liking/tastes:

1) the size bottle they made
2) their final nic mg
3) their final PG/VG ratio
4) whether they used 100% VG-based or 100% PG-based or a combination VG/PG-based nicotine base
5) what mg nic base they used

Some will even go so far as to tell you what tank or RBA they use to vape it, and at what V/W. But...YOU don't have to make your own recipe using their specifics like those.

You can always make yours to your own criteria as far as those things above. You'll just need to use an eliquid calculator to input your own specifics, and it'll pop out with the amounts of each thing to use...to make it! The 3 things at the top of my post are all anyone else needs to know...to make their own version of someone else's recipe!

I hate VG based nic solutions as they're difficult to work with being so viscous. However, that doesn't mean you can't use it. Simply subtract the volume of nic solution you'll be adding from the amount of VG needed to reach 70% in your juice and you're good to go.

I tend to be lazy. I have a juice calculator for stuff like this. I use e juice me up, works great and gives you all the volumes or weights or whatever way you choose to mix. Way more convenient than pen and paper. And much faster. Also saves recipes to keep your future mixing easy as well.

@HotRod19579's Juice Calculator is another popular one that offers quite a few wistles and bells; plus it has the benefit of a support thread right here on ECF: (New Calculator to try). The link for the free current download is available in the first post if you want to check it out. :)
