Channel 2 News has ECF and Ecig Story

Wasn't too bad of a story but every time I see a news story about this, it scares the crap out of me.

That was one of the more positive ones I have seen so far , they didnt say " the FDA says it has antifreeze in it "

The funny part is the reason they started using that chemical in antifreeze was because the old type antifreeze was killing too many pets.

What a load of garbage, for a start you have to be 18 to buy them, secondly I'm 41 and love the flavors, does that mean I'm a kid lol.

I'm sick of that propaganda too. The other thing is that most media reports always have some uninvolved idiot saying that "we just don't know what chemicals are in these e-cigs". They tend to interview the type of anti-Nazi that still believes there's got to be something bad, but of course they don't know for sure.

If they were involved and joined the ECF, they could easily find out there have many several exhaustive studies (in other countries). Those studies have ID'd exactly what is in the vapor we inhale. Of course we are involved and we know too, unless China is trying to kill us all slowly...yeah right. They like our $ too much to do that.

Personally I found it refreshing that the article didn't actually pass its own uninformed judgment on us. It was rather impartial overall, although missed a few things which I covered in a comment I sent em. The antis will always be quoted, they've got their own side of the story even if it is a badly misinformed side.

It wasn't terrible. Very brief as most local news stories are to cater to short attention spans.

The flavor targeted at kids thing is so played out though. Then stop all the "flavored" alcohol if that's an issue.

I'm a 32 year old man, I'm tired of having my rights and freedoms infringed because of phony hysterics about hypothetical children. They're not my kids, they're their parents responsibility not mine. I'd rather have teens buy an e-cig than rip their lungs apart with a pack of Newports.

And frankly the idea of the type/age of children these fear merchants peddle (by kids, they mean literal kids) buying, properly operating and using an e-cig is utterly absurd. It's far easier to swipe a lighter and a pack of Camels from daddy.

I have been smoke free as of January 25, 2010 thanks to this product. I am no longer winded while jogging. My clothes don’t reek, and I am no longer wheezing when I go to sleep. It is a shame that the FDA is waging their childish version of a drug war against products that their own tests show are essentially harmless.


The quote attributed to Mr. Myers above is arrogant and just plain wrong. I prefer sweet flavors, and preferred flavored pipe tobacco when I smoked a pipe. Do we really have high schools full of kids toting meerschaum pipes as a result of “flavors?” I think not.
