I am am not surprised! The worst drug experience I have ever had were with legal drugs. I have taken adderall xr (for add), lexapro(for depression), and wellbutrin for smoking cessation, birth control pills(for pmdd). All of these had horrible side effects except the wellbutrin.

The fact that it is easier to approve deadly unknown drugs, than keep(or make legal known, tested(through hundreds of years of experimentation) herbal remedies and recreational drugs that have caused exponentially fewer or no deaths is criminal. Some one is up to something and I do not like it!

I do my best to avoid prescription drugs and otc drugs, not just because of the dangers we may (or in fact may not be) aware, but also out of principle. I refuse to support a system of cornyism that claims to care about our well-being while interfering with our right and spreading misinformation(or even better keeping us ignorant of ANY, information) while simultaneously destroying our health, while claiming to champion it.

The whole thing makes me sick!

Yeah, I'm not surprised. Better living through psychopharmacology, indeed.

Chantix is a VERY dangerous drug. I'm sure it probably came from some experimentation with trying to create a competition for Disulfiram (antabuse) since that drug also acts on dopamine though in an entirely different way. Anything that messes with neurotransmitter receptors has the potential to be really screwy for different people because there is still so much to be learned about how brain chemistry differs from person to person (i.e. how some folks can be helped with various SSRIs vs. others who SSRIs make them want to jump out of windows)

I also try to avoid those kinds of drugs like the PLAGUE.

Thank YOU for this post!!!

My hubbies "dr", (nurse practitioner) tried several times to talk him into this stuff. Seems she had a big bottle that someone tried, didn't like and wanted to sell for half price. (which I believe is a federal offense...but nevermind that). He asked me what I thought and I said keep smoking if you must but don't even THINK about that stuff. He's already on an antidepressant because he has a little problem with anger. (no not physically violent...just kinda pissy without his little pill). But I shudder to think what would have happened mixing the two drugs!

oh yes....smoke free for 6 months thanks to e-cigs!!!!
