Ok so I haven't posted to the boards in a while mainly due to the fact that I went back to analogs and stopped using my ecig for a while... Recently though I've been using my ecig again and cutting back on my analog consumption considerably and now I'm almost exclusively back to using my ecig. My only problem is now my charger is broken and I've drained both my batteries and I don't know what to do.

I have a Joye eGo 510 for the record~

Anyway, I opened up the casing around the charger block and apparently one of the wires wasn't soldered very well to the chip inside and it came lose thus losing a connection and the current to the battery. I figured "I'm not electrician but I know generally how these things work, if i just get the wire to touch again and complete the circuit I'm back in business!" and this worked... for about 2minutes before the other wire came loose as well >_< I don't have the tools/wires/patience to continue trying to MacGuyver this thing back together and so I have a few questions...

1. Is there any quick fixes for this thing so I can get it running again at least for a few days until a replacement charger can be ordered?

2. Is there any other way to charge this battery? I have all the components even the wires and everything just no means to reconnect it the way it was before.

3. If I can't do the above; there are several e-cig bodegas/shop thingies at my local mall and I'm pretty sure I could go there and get a new charger except I'm not even certain any of the ones they have will work with my model. Even though I detest these vendors due to price gouging, knock off products passed as genuine, etc... I feel like at this point its my only option.

If I decide to do this I'm wondering if I can just get some generic 510 charger that fits my batteries as long as the voltage is the correct?

The current charger I have says "Input: AC110-240V 50-60Hz Output: DC:5.0V-7.0V max 400mA

I know this is kinda jumbled and I probably can't fix my old charger so if someone can at least give me some input on how to make sure I get a proper charger that'd be amazing!

TY in advance for any replies~

I've never seen a charger like that, All Li-Ion chargers output 4.2V.

Oh, this is an easy fix. Go to Radio shack and buy a soldering iron and some THIN solder (If the solder is really thick just use a hammer to hammer it out thinner ... ). Basically you place the wire onto the connector on the board/charger and heat them up for a good several seconds and then touch the solder to it and tap it with the soldering iron again. This will create a nice clean connection and fix your charger. The secret of a good soldering job is that the wire and what you are connecting it to melt the solder (Tin/Lead-LeadSubstitute) and not have the soldering iron do the melting. The good news is even a sloppy soldering job will do the trick. Reality is 99.9% of all soldering jobs are rushed by underpaid Chinese workers and they still "work".

A quick google search turned up this and a quick browse through shows it is a decent enough guide to get you going:
How to Solder

After you fix your charger you can use the soldering iron to make your own mod :D

Based on "The current charger I have says "Input: AC110-240V 50-60Hz Output: DC:5.0V-7.0V max 400mA"
What's broken is the wall wart part, the thing with an AC plug on one side and a USB female port on the other. Correct?

In that case you can pick up pretty much any USB charger that says output of 5V and 400mA (or greater). A BestBuy or similar place will have them if you are in a rush -- generic fairly low output USB charger, they sell them for phones, iPods, etc. (You don't need a 1000 mA or above power supply, your eGo charger will only pull about 400 mA max).

Otherwise, just use a USB port on your PC until you get a new one via the Internet. USB spec is minimum 500 mA, so a PC port will be fine to run your eGo charger.
