Charger problem - completely stopped working?

Last night, I threw in my 2 Samsung 18650's in my Nitecore I2 and it started the charge like always. I make sure the batteries are hitting the positive and negative ends on the charger as pictured. But this morning I woke up and noticed the charging lights were gone and one was just barely flickering. There was a little heat to the charger it's self and no harm to the batteries. I tried different batteries in both ports and still no dice. So what happened here? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, y'all.

Sounds like the charger itself died. Perhaps a power surge during the night or something with the charger. Sometimes things just die. I have a bad habit of charging batteries over night however I know it is dangerous and a very bad thing to do. So for safety sake I never recommend charging batteries unattended.

It's a NiteCore - poop happens to/with NiteCore's a lot.

It's not safe to assume there was no harm to those batteries either. When a NiteCore Behaves Badly one thing that happens often is it charges batteries waaay over voltage. You need to check voltage of those batteries with a meter to really know what did or didn't happen to them during the charger fail.

Any device can have problems. I've had an Xtar charger for over two years now and about a year in the transformer died. I found another one that had the same power plug and made the same output voltage with enough amp limit and have been using that ever since.

Whatever the issue is, it's not dependable anymore and that can be a safety issue with batteries. I also do not leave my charger running when I'm not here and awake, just in case something goes wrong and the batts catch fire or explode. And yes, I do have a fire extinguisher here :)

If you can't send the charger back to the supplier, I suggest you just get a new one. Definitely don't use it anymore without first figuring out what's wrong with it and fixing it.
