Charger types of voltages Do/Don'ts

Morning.

I love my wall and usb chargers, however I had a friend who asked me if the charger usb output/input would be safe on other places such as console games, ipod adapter, or even a car charger.

I also have new usb chargers of my own but different voltage of input 5v/output4v. I use them on my pc or apple adapter, are they safe?

Icey (sir correct?) as long as the usb port puts out the amperage required by the charger then yes it's safe to use. Most usb chargers require 500ma and less, all usb 2.0 ports are rated at 500ma at the very least. As long as it's a usb 2.0 or 3.0 port there should be no issue. Same doesn't apply to pt's.

Okay, the wall charger of these apple adapters are:

Input: 100-240v~ 50/60hz 0.1A
Out:5v-550ma

So is it safe?

What's the charger specs Icey sir? If it's under 550ma, then yes. All usb chargers take 5v input (usb functions off a 5v dc line), then converts it the specs of the batt (i.e.- 4.2v at 250ma for a kr808).

Someone with more electrical knowledge than I have can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's safe to use chargers. 5 volt passthroughs (the ones without an inline battery) draw a lot of amps and can cause serious problems. Be careful what you connect them to.

The current of the 5v usb power supply must be higher than the current rating of the charger. an ego charger uses 420ma (i believe) so a 500ma computer usb port or wall wart should power it fine.
