Charging life: mvp 2.. habits...

Hey all...

Question: charging habits of mvp 2.

So I see these batteries like to be active vs charge & run down to empty. I understand that.

However I know there are limited amounts any battery can be recharged.

My question is.. do I get more cycles by charging a partially discharged battery vs a complete cycle of charge to empty.

And if so.. how much longer. Are we talking 6 months vs a year or more or less..

Any data proving you point is welcome & valued.

I'm not exactly sure of the answer, but think of a cell phone battery like an iphone. They last for years of daily use and charging. Hopefully by the time you need to replace it, you will probably be using another pv anyways

Most folks who own the MVP 2.0 will recharge when the LED goes to yellow; this is ~3.6 volts....
The FULLY-CHARGED battery is 4.2 volts....discharging CONSTANTLY below 3.3 volts ("running into the RED".....) is NOT recommended; it places strain on the battery chemistry and may not take/hold a full charge after "deep" discharges....
Note that recharging at 3.6-3.7 is only a PARTIAL discharge....if you're counting the # of charges the battery will take, each charge from ~50% discharge really only "counts" as a half-cycle....in short, longer battery life!!
