Shouldnt ever hurt to charge a 510 battery. If you put in on your charger and the light goes red......it's charging. Put it on and the light goes green.........it's already fully charged. batteries will always come with some amount of charge because they store better with around 40% charge in a cool environment.

Other brand charger should work the same unless you've got some fancy mod your hiding, then there can be issues with putting batteries on the wrong charger. Read up on Lithium Ion Batteries if you're interested in the why. Stick with the charger that came with your kit and you should not have any problems.

In general, 510's will only last a couple hours of heavy vaping. Depending on your preference, you may want to invest in a PCC (personal charging case) or a larger battery. As a heavy smoker (and vaper), I started out with an eGo for just that reason. 10 hours vaping between charges instead of a couple of hours sold me.
