Charging two batts for a set

How close should two batts be charged to for using as a set? For instance, usually I don't worry about , for example one batt is 4.18, and the other is 4.19. How bout a difference of 2, or three. Just wondering about this. Should the higher voltage one be closest to the atty or carto? Thanks.

Unless you have some super slick meter, depending on how yours rounds off the difference could be as little as 0.001V

4.18 -> 4.184

4.19 -> 4.185
