White Cloud Disposables. Give them 3 and let them try it.
Shop Fling Disposable E Cigarettes | White Cloud
I bought 2 people kits when I first started. A 901 & a 401. Neither one took to it. I gave a rechargeable "disposable" kit to a cousin and his kid walked off with it.
I think this is something you have to want to do.
cigalikes are an easier transition. Then if they are interested, they will talk to you about it.

edit, link to the White Cloud Fling disposable.

What is your idea of cheap. Are we talking $20 bucks or $80 bucks. You gotta start with something at least semi satisfying IMO or your going to think that crap you got is all this wonderful hobby has to offer and probably leave it alone. Here is what I would get them:

I Stick 30W-$35-$45
Silo Lite BVC or reg Silo BVC (essentially a better Natilus *IMO*)-$30
Some sample pack from Mt Baker-$30ish depending
its $100 bucks but if you love these people I think you should start em off with something that will make the "this is BETTER then ciggies" lightbulb go off

I know you said as cheap as possible but you really do get what you pay for and I am sure there will be hoards of $7 egos being posted but I don't think that will draw them in enough and I think they will just go back. Also your finances play a big role in what you can do I just think this stuff isn't a game it can save lives so why start with such junk. You don't need a DNA 4O n a RDA I just think with the advancements you should go middle of the road specially if its for your mom or someone you love and please read my story below so you know why I feel this way,

I tried and tried to get my dad vapeing cause hes going to die from complications of smoking unless he stopped. I spent tons and tons of money (my dads poor, alcoholic, social services etc and I sell commercial real estate..nuff said) and nothing was working. I said screw it and told him if he allowed me to teach him just basic battery safety I would do everything else (coils etc) for him and give him two bottles of black label. I taught him about batteries, I gave him my original Sig 100W and a Darkhorse. He hasn't smoked since and comes by every Friday so I can do what needs to be done to his gear. I think the other stuff wasn't satisfying him, huge 12mg lung hits really do though lol. My point is if your trying to save someones health the cheapest gear might not be the best but I understand not everyone makes 100+ a year so do what you got to do I just wanted to share my story. And I don't want to sound pretentious either. If my grumpy old man is around even one extra year the $3142.47 and two years I spent trying to find something he loves was well worth it, He buys his own juice now, gets me to build his cois, has two of the exact same setups in case one breaks, vapes ONE juice and carrys an Ego One with him fully charged in case something goes amiss with his setup.

Hi. I am looking for a cheap starter kit to give away to friends and family. It should be as cheap as possible, but still good enough so they get a good vaping experience.

Do you have any suggestions?

In the UK; some discount stores are offering the KIK with 650mA battery for around £10, as with any cheap e-cig - the cheaper you go, the more expensive the consumables. The clearomisers are £3 and non-rebuildable.

The cig-alikes with throw away cartomisers are cheaper to buy and more expensive for consumables, you can top up the cartomiser a few times with fluid - but not what I'd call a good vaping experience.

A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginner Vaper

You wouldn't have to include 2 batteries in the starter kit; at least one battery would allow them to sample the setup and then let them know where to get a second battery. For e-liquid, get the appropriate nicotine level depending upon the number of cigs smoked. Flavors are tough -- recommend that they visit a juice tasting shop as the flavor chosen is very subjective/individualized for each person. If you don't like the flavor, you won't vape it.

Having to wait a few hours for the battery to charge wouldn't be a great vaping experience (it wasn't for me!) - they'd probably just go out and buy another pack of cigarettes while they wait.

My first was the Vapourlites cig-alike with only 180mAh battery - I had to have at least 3 batteries on charge ready to replace the one I was using.

Even with 2Ah+, I keep at least 2 batteries in service - if I get up in the night its a PITA to take the battery off the charger to take a few puffs and remember to put it back again.

eGo 1100mAh Premium Starter Kit [Black/Black Case] - $25.97 : EasyVapors.com, Electronic Cigarette Refills E Liquid
26$
2 X 1100mah eGo Batteries
2 X GS-H2 1.6ml (replacable coil head)Clearomizers
1 X eGo Zipper Case
1 X USB eGo Charger
1 X USB Wall Adapter
1 X 10ml Needle Tip Bottle
2 X 10ml bottles of eLiquid (Choose flavors and nicotine below)

It used to be that 510 was one of the most popular threads, but ego seems to be overtaking it.

With an ego battery, you stand a fair chance of picking up an emergency replacement cartomiser - even if its a refillable but not rebuildable type, they generally only cost a little more than an atomiser head.

And of course 510 also fits an ego battery.

Ego/ce4 starter kit is the cheapest kit. I bought a handful of them and gave them out as Christmas gifts. They are cheap and low end but they do serve the purpose of being a cheap way to find out if vaping is for you or not. If you give one to someone and they like it, help them get an upgrade. If they try it and dont like it, you're only out the cost of a little more than a pack of smokes
