I was looking at ebay, and noticed an abundance of cheap, ready-made variable voltage modules from china.. I was wondering if anyone has looked into using one in a mod? A good majority of them support up to around 15-18 watts with 3A max... just curious, beacuse with the prices I'm seeing, they seem pretty damn cheap compared to say, the OKR chip alone.

Oh, and I was also curious about some boost modules I saw... they are a bit pricey.. but the ones based on the LM2587 seem to support 20-30W max (claims vary depending on what board you're looking at) and up to 5A (not continuous) example: LM2587 DC-DC Step-Up Module | eBay

These modules just look very easy to work with for someone just starting to mod... I haven't soldered in 6-7 years now, so I really liked the idea of everything already out together... even if they are a bit large.

High power boosters usually are bigger than we can use in e-cigs. Except in the big boxes ::).

That one is way to big though and the first one won't BOOST. Output is lower than input.

If you want power in a small size, this might work. You would have to add a small trimmer to it but would still be small.

This won't BOOST either.

10 amps ought to take care of a double barrel Low resistance Dual coil running on 6 volts, LOL
