about that give or take like $20. It gets better once you find the gear that works best for you, then you can just simply buy replacements coils or rebuild your own. Then your spending will drop a lot, unless you get into collecting different types and what not. My first month looked like that plus $400 in juice, I had to try almost everything I could find. Thankfully that was 2010 and there wasn't as many vendors or I would have gone bankrupt.

You sound like me and containers. I have a collection of Kool-Aid containers waiting to have something done with them (I've turned six into holiday luminaries, three into LED emergency lights, four into LED night lights for my nieces, so it's not like I hoard them).

It really does get better. Let's face it, eventually you have everything you could reasonably want (or unreasonably want, but that takes longer). Your only ongoing expense is liquid and replacement batteries after that.

Although I spent close to $2,000 grand total in the last fifteen months (Google says that's 1,222 pounds), I haven't spent $11,400 (7,000 pounds) on cigarettes.

Or you could put your foot down and simply not spend for a while. Or simply buy one thing a month.

I won't add it up for the thread - not because it's a secret, but because if I try, I'll cry all over my laptop and break that too.

It gets easier.

What I'd suggest is that for each thing that you find workable, use it for ~ a month before really making a decision either way. Once you work out whether it's good for you, or if not why not, it'll be easier to plot your course from there.

There are a lot of different systems with different advantages and disadvantages, and it's easy to think you've found something you want to stick with, overstock, then find something better. Or of course, conversely, to decide something is rubbish, switch to something else, and later realise that you simply hadn't given the first thing a chance.

Also, if you like Hangsen, cheap juice can be had here:

Hangsen 100ml sale

I think some of it is very nice (though it does vary)

There are cheaper tactics to successfully get into vaping. My 1st kit was $14 for a 1100mah CE4 kit. Next purchase was a 650mah kit for $9, and I got an extra 11 or so CE4/CE5's for $1 each. That's $34 right there for my gear. I also got kits for my brother/father, so there was an incentive for him to give me a deal on extra stuff. I eventually realized that my 1100mah battery from my 1st purchase was definitely under powered, as the 650mah's from the other guy lasted longer. The 1100 still works/vapes, and it charges up quickly at 75mins tops, but I explained this very situation to that seller. Eventually he offered to send me a replacement batery for free, which I finally got today. It's a different and better style than the 1st blue 1100mah I got, and i can already tell it's gonna have a much better capacity, which I can tell just cuz of the longer charge it took. But anyways, that's 3 ego batteries I have to cycle w/ my 11 clearos. Haven't even used all of em yet, but I absolutely love how I can have all my flavors in their own clearo. It puts much less strain on them cuz of the light rotated usage, and I'm still actually using the very 1st clearo I started with. It couldn't have had more than 10mL vaped out of it yet and it still tastes fine. But I've been vaping for almost 2 months now daily, and the $34 I spent is still enough at this point to have me covered. Juice is another story, I buy that in person. $4 for 5mL, $7 for 10mL, and $16 for 30mL. The latter is obviously the best deal, but all I buy is the 5mL so I can try new flavors each time. 10mL is more than enough to last me a week, and that's a plus w/ the clearos I'm using. If I was into the BCC's, I kno I'd definitely be using more juice.

I spent that much in my first month and all I had to show for it was seven 510 stick batteries a PCC a handful of attys and some horrible juice, half of which I still have in the back of my vape box.

If we would have had gear half as good as what we have now it would have been SOOO much easier. :)

Well, you don't have buy every ego style battery on the market! But seriously if you can avoid buying everything that intrigues you and find some DIY recipes you like, you will start saving money.

I'm one those who likes to try different things, but I haven't ordered anything since my last DIY order, sometime around August. My last hardware purchase was the ProVari during the Fourth of July sale. Many things out there I'd like to try, but money is very tight, on the bright side I'm stocked and could probably go another 6 months without buying anything.

I started with one of the cheapos chinese cig a like... just to feel how the vapor was. The moment i realized it worked, in 1 month i managed to spend equivalent of 400 US$ in products... im almost a month vaping and today is first day without analogs. I was spending like 200 US$/mo on analogs, so it wasnt a hard decision. Considering im stocking different juices, after initial spending the cost will dramatically slow, but more important, i feel better and i like much more vaping than smoking. Even if i had to pay every month same ammount our even more than i had to spend on analogs, i wouldnt think 2 times.

Currently my gear is a evic, im considering get an ego battery to use when im moving.

Looks like the learning curve is expensive to a degree but once you find your mod then costs drop considerably. Then its your monthly supply of juice and new rechargeables every 8-12 months. I spend about 40-50$ a month on juice as compared to the 250-300$ a month on ciggies... so thats about 200-250$ a month now spent elsewhere....

I've been vaping since mid November (early November if you count the Blu starter kit I bought and used for a week). I tallied it up and, not including the Blu I've spent $370 ($540 with the Blu included). I smoked about 2 packs of cloves a day @$5.70/pack or 1.5-2 packs of Blacks a day @$6.35 per pack. For simplicity let's say that's an average of $6/pack x 2 x 30 = $360/month. Now that I have my gear set (mostly) I can narrow my costs down to about $75/month for juice. This doesn't include the money my husband is saving on analogs. We are planning a cruise with the $$ we are saving :)

Initial expense *can* be staggering. To some extent we're like kids that discovered shiny new 'toys' and enjoy the newly found freedom to play with them. Some stick with what they bought in the first place. Some go on exploring. And the manufacturers ain't dumb either :
I call it Micros**ftMarketing, any minor bug fix gets touted as all new and improved and sold.
But you aren't using disposables, in the long run scale will tilt in your favour if you don't go overboard clicking 'Buy'...
Done with the analog, you mash the .... in an ashtray. Done with gear, you hook it up to the charger and refill the atty.
And lung de-gunking by means of vaping surely beats the pricetag you local clinic would ask for...

The initial expense was the LEAST of my worries. I suggest you never go look at the high end mods thread. ever. like seriously dont do it. I made the mistake when i first started vaping. Now ive got multiple $200+ set ups and all sorts of other goodies. Easily 2k into this hobby now. Price you pay for liking shiny things and your health!
Hell if $2000 is what it took to get me off analogs and back in the gym then so be it!
