I'm doing a little price comparison and am trying to find the cheapest 18650 tube mod. I'm thinking probably something like the maxi roughstack from madvapes for around $45. So just to make sure I'm doing proper research before purchasing what other inexpensive 18650 mods should I consider. BTW I realize that an 18650 e-power is probably the cheapest but due to a number of problems many vendors are refusing to carry them. Even if I could find one I wouldn't want one until smoketech can get there QC in line.

The only issue I can think of with the roughstack is the button placement on top. Its definitelty not a dealbreaker though. Out if curiosity any other options with a traditional side button placement in the same price range. Also I prefer a metal tube as opposed to an acrylic which I know madvapes also offers in their goldrush mods.
I got 2 18650 E-Powers (Chrome), both work flawlessly..Got a 5v switch on one..3.7 on the other..

The RiteStack is a rough stack. There are a couple of places that either get them from madvapes and resell them or they get them from the same machine shop. I've heard both things. - The only question I would have would be what version of switch do they have?
The button is on top. I played with one of Todd's at vaperite one day. Looks pretty firm, still don't know about the button on top.
The Bombshell and Indulgence are the only other 18650 tubes I can think of with the button on the side in the same general price range.
fwiw I had the Goldrush and liked it, while not being as durable as metal it can take more than I thought it would and very nice marble finish. It's big though, it dwarfs the 18650 Maxi Roughstack which is pretty small for being 18650 but isn't as tank friendly without an adapter.
i know its not the cheapest, but i love my Precise.... this thing will never fail.
Actually the roughstack is the RiteStack. The ritestack was made first. Gave the idea to Madvapes to sell then he started to get too expensive for Madvapes. Madvapes got the OK from him to break away.
if you don't mind used, make sure to check the classifieds on here. alot of people take really good care of their mods

That appears to be a rebranding of the indulgence v3 that I've seen at eastmall among other vendors. Although this is the only place I've seen offer it as a body only at $40 everyone else has them as a kit only at around $60. I've been trying to find reviews of the indulgence v3 but every one that I can find is referring to the V2 which appears to be completely different. I'm yet to find a review of the v3 but an all mechanical mod for $40 I'm tempted to try it blind.
I have used the maxi rough stack for about 4 months and now using the vapingzone mod for a couple of days.

Even though you've only had it for a few days let me ask hows the build quality seem ? Does it seem well thought and built properly ? Hows the machining quality ? Does everything thread together nice and smooth or is it squeaky and rough ? In short does it seem like its durable or just a cheap and hastily put together mod ? I'm not expecting $200 quality for $40 dollars. However for about the same price I know the roughstack is high quality durable mod. However I really do think that I would prefer the side button and I'm always a sucker for mechanical mods.
Here's some info I found on the Indulgence V3 as to the written up by Dexter at Vapor Junction as to the improvements from the V2.
"They have improved the unit in ways such as an upgrade from aluminum to stainless, improved threading, and using ONLY the 510 adapter cap and adding low profile 510 adapters instead of multiple crappy adapter caps. We will continue to sell the Indulgence once these upgrades / improvements have been made and in our opinion is a better option for the 18650".
Not many people carrying them yet but since the link above has them in...although rebranded, it shouldn't be to much longer. Looks like a nice step forward for that mod.
